Had a shocking first round only posting 1,873

Mostly happy with my selections. Sheed and Saad (saints) are the two I'm most unhappy with. I only ended up with Saad because when Lamb was named the sub I swapped him for Saad which in hindsight was a mistake. Took Sheed thinking his NAB cup scores were an indication of how he would score season proper but he did far from that and at 214k needs to be scoring more. Just read this article http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-04-07/eagles-backs-not-chronic and by the sounds of that Sheed will get dropped.

Last season when GAJ went down I traded him to Rocky and that turned out to be a season defining trade and thought I owed it to Rocky to take him from day dot this season only for Varcoe to floor him for 6 weeks.

Lids getting reported and subbed was both annoying and a worry.
ON THE BLOCK: Brett Deledio is the biggest worry. The match review panel will today look very closely at his high bump on Simon White in the opening seconds of Thursday night’s win against Carlton, and the verdict might not be good for Deledio, who was subbed off at three-quarter time to manage an ongoing Achilles problem. Hard to see anyone getting dropped on form; Nathan Gordon was the sub so could be last man out if coaches do want to make a change.
Getting managed already and its only round 1 I'm rather tempted to just cut and run.

Had Swan in my side for majority of the pre-season but left him out in the end and decided to take a chance with Neale with the plan that if Neale fluffed it I could always burn a trade and bring him in. I have the urge to bring in Swan before his price rise cause if he keeps churning out the tons he'll soon be at a premium price.

Round 1 preliminary trades
Rocky -> JPK/Fyfe/Sloane Not considering GAJ cause after the start I've had I can picture the carnage continuing if I dare go there. Leaning towards JPK due to his impressive averages against the next 3 teams 103, 122, 112
Lids -> Swan

Leaves me with $201,800 in the bank which should come in handy the following week. If Rich backs up with another ton in round 2 Sheed -> Rich will be a lock.

So after a shocking first round I posted a couple of decent scores in rounds 2 & 3 but then the wheels fell off completely in round 4 with Heeney's 7, a terrible captain choice in Selwood 84 and mediocre scores from a lot of my other players with only 6 tons for the round. Mostly happy with my trades apart from grabbing Oxley a week late which cost me $62,900. Hopefully round 5 sees me score in the 2,200's again.

So that means that the last line of trades are what you are going to do this week?

I feel like you should try to get Nathan Krakouer in there and not Brendan Whitecross.

Yeah mate, Newnes->WhiteX and Saad->Tarrant are the trades I'm thinking of doing this week. If Heeney doesn't play or dons the green vest I'll probably trade him to Krak but at this stage I'm keen to get rid of Newnes before he bleeds out completely and I think WhiteX could end up being a solid pick. Cause he missed the entire 2014 season I think he will take a while to get going but once at peak form and fitness could end up scoring half decent.

I am assuming WhiteX is out of your side?

He was when teams came out but when Oxley scored 148 as my emergency he came flying back in lol

Happy enough with scoring 2,213 in round 5 but now 2 weeks in a row I've had a monster score on the bench. Cripps 172 and now Oxley's 148. I made an attempt to get Oxley's score by trading Newnes to Whitecross which turned out to be an epic fail but looking at the positives I'm rid of Newnes and with Hodge and Lewis both set to miss games Whitecross will surely play full games and hopefully cement a spot in the side. All my rookies have achievable BE's but I'm gonna make an upgrade this week. First thought was Salem to Gray but now I'm thinking Sheed or Heeney to Shiel.

EDIT: With CEY out I'm gonna trade him and looking at options I'm 3,100 short of a straight swap to Fyfe which is rather agonising so I'm gonna stick with bringing in Shiel. With the inclusion of Shiel I only have 2 spots left in the mids with Rocky taking one and Sloane a good chance to take the other meaning I would have no room for Fyfe or GAJ (assuming he gets back to his old self) so I should probably bring in Gray instead cause he can be moved forward but I'm finding Shiel too hard to pass up.

^^Well so much for that theory of Whitecross getting full games^^

Pretty ordinary round for me in a lot of aspects. Didn't have a loophole to begin with so went with Danger as captain thinking he would carve up a depleted Suns side but he didn't even crack the ton >:(
Ended up with a loophole with Simpson being withdrawn but it was all too late she cried by the time I caught wind of it. Lost my cash league game by 7 points and now cling on to 8th spot by a measly 1.6% so its a must win situation for me this week so couple of trades will be made. Hogan looks cooked with a BE of 77 so gonna trade him to Titch and get rid of Heeney for McKenzie.

EDIT: Now Simpson is missing another week I'm gonna trade him to McKenzie and skip Titch and get the real deal Gray in for Hogan.

EDIT 2.0: I might eventually settle on some trades but at this stage I'm now going with Heeney to McKenzie and Whitecross to Smith. Might mean I'll have to hold Hogan for a while cause Rocky will be coming in next week so won't have the means to upgrade Hogan and only bubble boy will be Langford who is just filling in gaps and is unlikely to hold down a spot.

With the uncertainty surrounding Titch's spot in the side I resisted temptation and got Smith instead which turned out to be an absolute abortion. Smith was only projecting to drop 20k with a score of 80 odd, a hit which I was prepared to take but scoring 16 and dropping 49k and projecting to drop another 34k once he plays which probably won't be till round 9 I'm not happy about at all. The only real positives from the round was my captain selection in Swan who was my top scorer and I had a win in my cash league. Gonna trade Vandenberg to Rocky this week but will need to make a 2nd trade to free up some cash and as crazy as this sounds I'm thinking of trading Smith straight back out to Lever or possibly Glenn if he gets named. I figure I traded Rocky out and now back in I could always do the same with Smith and bring him back in after his bye.

EDIT: Now the rage has subsided a little I think trading Smith could end up coming back to haunt me cause he can score well at times where as Harry O should probably be the one to make way as I don't see his output improving any time soon. The only catch will be if Hogan and Lonie both miss I'll be a forward short and will probably have to look at trading Lonie to someone to field a side meaning "Tuff Stuff" will live on to see another day.

Pretty happy with scoring 2,205 in round 8. Was a near perfect round apart from Goldy, Bont and Houli. Tosh, Miller and Tarrant all scored shower but being rookies they can be excused. Spuing I traded Vandenberg but I'm sure most of us did and it was the right call at the time just unlucky that he decided to go ape shower and rip out a massive score. Got lucky this week with Hogan and Clark both scoring well but can't be expecting that every week so with that line being my weakest thinking I'll bring in Buddy this week for Cripps via Bont. Bont is on notice after this week but hoping he doesn't get tagged against GWS and can bounce back. Another shower score and he'll be back to where he started at 422k and firmly in the cross hairs. May make a 2nd trade mid round of Lonie -> Dale if Dale avoids the vest but really don't have any confidence in picking him, downgrades are pretty much non existent.

OPERATION GRYFE
I have suffered 9 long arduous rounds without either of these blokes in my team and have decided to throw complete caution to the wind concerning byes seeing overall isn't an option and make it my mission to bring both in over the next 2 weeks. The 4 players I'll be trading out are Ox, Miller, Cripps and Clark. The 4 players I'll be hopefully trading in are Gray, Fyfe, Glenn and Hamling/Boston. It's gonna be a really tight squeeze to make it happen with only 74k in the bank but if I get lucky it's possible. I'm thinking Ox and Miller out this week for Glenn and Fyfe via McKenzie and then the following week Cripps and Clark out for Gray and Hamling/Boston.

So my question is have I got the order right in which I should be doing the trades to avoid potential price drops of outbounds and price hikes of inbounds?

Not looking real flash coming into round 11 with probably only 14 definite starters. Really hoping that McKenzie gets named along with 1 of Clark or Salem. If McKenzie does get named I'll swing him into the backs at the expense of Tosh or Lever and bring in Glenn or Boston. 2nd trade will be either Rocky or Cripps to Fyfe, he could go huge against Gold Coast and it's about time I got him in. 3rd trade I will upgrade Clark or Salem if neither of the 2 get named, otherwise I'll upgrade Hogan instead before he starts to drop cash.

Only ended up fielding 16 in round 11 but got the win in my cash league so was a pretty good result cause I should have 18 for both remaining bye weeks. Thinking I might bring in Gray this week despite his massive BE. With his last 2 scores going sub 100 I reckon he could be due for a biggen. He scored 174 against Carlton in round 22 last year and the off chance he somehow manages something similar this week I gotta have him. Hogan has definitely reached his ceiling and the dees have a tough assignment down at Geelong so figure I could hold Hogan and have him lose cash or trade him to Gray and have him lose cash. Gonna need some cash to afford Gray so hoping Hamling gets named so I can downgrade Salem to him via Bont and Saad.

Yes I would get Gray in if you think you can field 18 next week even by trading him in. Hogan has a BE of 94 so good option to trade out like you said. Also you need to get Bont back into that forward line so again your Salem -> Hamling is a good move, get Bont back in the right position. Any plans on who your last mid upgrade will be? Priddis, Beams, Wines all options for you. If it's Beams you could look at doing that next week from Cripps. Also need to try and get Hodge in that defence if you trust him, you could find a way to get him this week but it would involve trading Oxley and Saad.

Cheers for the reply mate. Fielding 18 next week isn't a major concern for me cause i'm not a chance in buckley's of overall and currently sit 2nd on 8-0-2 in my cash league so if I dropped one match cause of not having 18 it wouldn't be the be all, end all of my chances of a top 4 birth. My last mid spot I'm eyeing off Sloane but won't do anything this week cause I'm keen to see how him and Crippy both go this week. Hodge is on the radar but isn't priority 1 at the moment. I think once I move McGovern and Saad back to defence that line will suffice for the time being with Houli, Simpson, Shaw, McGovern, Smith, Saad/Ox EMG: Hamling, Saad/Ox
