Surely you can't keep blaming their performances on WADA?

people cant keep blaming the coach either they can only do so much
To be fair, Hird was fantastic in 2013 (until he started being called to the ASADA hearings), but he brought this upon the club by authorising Stephan Dank to undertake his supplements program. I know it could spiral into jeopardy, but if I were the board, I would be looking to Stuart Dew or Guy McKenna because Hird has been given to many resources and is running out of excuses.
Michael Voss?  :P
Don't mention that hack around a Port supporter - has brought misery to our club (suffering worse than anything ASADA brought to Essendon)  :P
not even Foxfooty wanted Voss

Even the reality tv show 'The Recruit' preferred to be cancelled rather than remain associated with him  :P

So instead of getting jabs you want them to start snorting?

Stewie Dew will just get them on the burgers. But it looks like Watson already had a few today.

What concerns me most about Hird is that he's making a whole lot of excuses...

"I think history will tell you that if you play seven players or more under 50 games then your chances of winning are very low. You don't win many games and you're almost giving yourself no chance of winning with that many players under 50 games." - James Hird

The Saints just beat them by 110 points and had 8 players under 50 games...

Haha, fail.

Even if the saints had no players under 50 games, if you understand your odds of winning are low with so many inexperienced players, then play more experienced players?

I mean, giants stayed competitive against richmond, despite missing mumford, davis, patful and mohr... we were apparently manning buntine on riewoldt, he's like 7cm taller.

+1

Essendon cannot complain about experience with 2 Brownlow medalists in their line-up (one subbed out and the other having possibly the worst game of his career), a rising star (who literally carried the team), & a #1 draft pick (who was involved in all the same achievements as Nroo & Joey). Furthermore, if a lack of experience is the problem, why did Hird elected to play younger players over, say Paul Chapman, a 3 time premiership player.

Jukes

I'm pretty sure we're tanking tbh

Which I agree with - if you're not going to win the premiership, why ruin your draft picks by coming 6th to 14th?

Can't say it surprises me, I just hope we can turn it around and play some competitive footy.

or we could trade goddard back to saints for a draft pick, lol. "what? you got him for free and now your selling him back to us??"

But in all seriousness, the list is decent and the coaching staff are arguably one of the best in the league.

In my opinion it just shows what percentage of modern football is psychological, you look at ports decline this year, carltons post-malthouse form (surly you can't instill entire coaching values in a week), and the GCS gaj vs no-gaj.

But we really had a lack of accountability and didn't know how to change it, saints did what ever they pleased and were under no pressure what so ever. But you don't lose by 100+ points just by playing badly, both teams need to contribute to the factor. So grats to saints on a decent performance.

you can't imagine hird will be there by the end of the year, but I argue this decline was inevitable.

Also I'd like to thank Dempsy for his services as a bomber, as he will never play another senior game for essendon.

Bring in Dalgleish, Pears, Ashby, Edwards, Browne.

We need a midfield who looks like they want to play football

What is happening with the Dyson Heppell Football Club?  :P

They have a solid (some might say top 6) list, I think they need to fire Hird because Bomber Thompson was much better & under more pressure
The list is the problem in my opinion. Too many maybes and under-acheivers.
