Toga

Good to hear. Hopeful that he can put his injuries in the past and make something of his career!

Has Pears been playing well in the VFL?

yeah i think so

he has only played two games, but both times kicked bags of three with limited game time and possessions. this season no different, still been interrupted with injuries.

Fox Sports reporter Julian De Stoop says that Cooney, Carlisle and Chapman will all play and McKernan will be the unlucky one to miss out, likely with Edwards and Fantasia.

Jukes

God damn it, McKernan was very nice last week imo, especially for a rookie draft pick-up, Dempsey is showerhouse :'(

But a confidence boost for Courts this week wouldn't be too bad

Ricochet

flower yeh hopefully that helps Belly to a reasonable score

Apparently that was bell-end's first "pain free" game of the season. Maybe he can come into form against Brisbane?

Really liked the game of Mckernan last week, would have liked to see how he would have played in that Ambrose role for a couple of weeks.

I don't like it when people only get one game to impress. Just never gives them a chance.

It's not like he was added as a fringe player, he took our full forwards spot in the side. He would have had to move heaven and earth to keep a spot.

I think he did a lot to cement his role as the backup tall man, considering his on the rookie list he may just find his way onto the senior list next year with 1-2 more cameo's like that. He is essentially the gwilt of our forward line.

I know what he was added for, but he did enough to keep his spot and then he's just not going to play because someone is healthier, fair enough.

Ambrose does a bit in the ruck each week and plays that tall half forward. Would have preferred Mckernan play that role for a couple of weeks and see how he goes instead of just being a back up full foward.

You under estimate Ambrose value to the side

In what way? I understand the role he plays and what he gives to the team.

But as a target moving forward with the ball you'd want a few more than 3 marks a game?

As a forward you'd want more than 4 goals after 7 rounds.

I know he leads us in tackles for the season.

But i feel Mckernan will be, from what i saw last week, a more trustworthy option to take a grab at the half forward line than Ambrose and i think that's the role that he plays mostly.

I'm sorry to get argumentative. But quote stats all you want, Ambrose has the presence and pressure around the ground of a Bull. He runs out games like a champ and doesn't just tackle people... he puts them into hospital. You fail to mention those 4 goals only happened in the past 3 games, why drop him now when he is just starting to find the sticks.

He may not be pretty or a big scorer, but he is a specialized cog that I'm afraid mckernan can't replicate. Not saying he can't find his way into the side, but it will need to be through another door.

silloc

Maybe we'll have to make a spot for him after that VFL performance.

Also, my respect for coon dog after that game went up x10. His ability to manufacture scoring ops is really what we need from a midfield perspective.

kilbluff1985

i think both Hurley and Hooker could be in the AA team by the end of the year Baguley has also been really good
