For all supporters, not just Port, has Port been found out, or was it a blip. Me personally, a big effort to lead for 3 quarters, and  5 players that played 15 minutes of NAB, to go down by 7 points, was --- well ok. Think we missed Lobbe, but Freo are a hard team to beat in the west. Sydney this week, isn't going to get any easier.

GoLions

Found out? You were playing Freo in Perth, game went pretty much exactly how I expected it to go. Played like a top 4 team.

Swans will be tough though.

PowerBug

It wasn't a blip, and we haven't been found out. That was just a brilliant game of footy where they got up because of their last quarter and their conversion of set shots. Could've easily the the other way.

Also, Pttard is not to blame. We still needed two goals in 3 minutes which is a pretty tough ask.

No shame in losing to Freo in Freo

Just round 1

Come on Dudge, a bit of an overreaction. All the experts claim that Port was one of the best performing teams of the round... If the game had been at any other stadium I think the Power could have overrun them. But remember Freo are premiership contenders, with a lot of experienced players (far more than Port), and have a very talented list. There is no shame in losing to teams like this. The first five rounds are usually tough to draw inferences from because the top teams from the previous year (only North & Richmond didn't match up against fellow finalists) are matched up against one another, and so to are the bottom teams. The Power could lose their first four (very tough game) and yet go on to smash the teams with easier early season draws (and no-one is doubting that). The fact that both teams were in it until the final siren is really the point to be drawn from that game. I've also noticed that no one would even try to criticise them for the result, because most people would notice there is nothing to criticise.

Eg. My father hates Port Adelaide, however he was more impressed by the way Port played than Freo (he said it was comparable to the Hawks). I think they haven't been 'found out'. The only thing that really has been exposed is the self-realisation that some Port supporters have unrealistic expectations - myself included, I thought the entire duration of the game would continue like those dominant opening 10 minutes - then I assumed that our whole season would continue on like that hahaha. The thing I've learned supporting the Power is that when they are a flag chance, they will win when they need to win - excluding the finals campaigns from 2002 & 2003. (i.e. they always seem to get at least one step further than expected in finals series - 05, 13, & 14)

It was more to get some movement on our board PSK, than anything else mate. Just so people know, I upped my carton bet to two for the showdown, instead of one, with 2 Crow supporters. Funny, after bombarding me with texts straight after our loss, neither took the challenge

With having 5 underdone players, playing Freo in the west, Lobbe a late out, some players having mares, if anything, I feel more assured, we're on the the right path

tbh, if we don't beat North (w/o Dal Santo) I'll be worried. Our season won't be over (because we have honestly been matched up against the best team early, in disadvantageous grounds (Sydney can play anywhere) but I'll start feeling worried..

So you boys have won just 6 of your last 16 games... Does that change anyones thoughts? It certainly opened my eyes up a little more

and those 6 were...

Bullies
Melbourne
Gold Coast
Carlton
Fremantle (one H&A and one Final)
Richmond (Final)

You boys certainly had the wood over us at the end of last year, but that list would be a little concerning

Hmmm, it does put things in perspective.

... but the two teams they lost to are good teams. No time to panic yet

Mailman the 2nd

I mean 16 is an arbitrary number. Might as well make it the last 26

Exactly, just a cherry picked statistic. 5 of those losses were to Sydney and Hawthorn who were rolling over everything that wasn't each other. They'll be fine

Its a decent sized sample though

stick a fork in port    they are done!!!
