Quito Quetzals 18.13.121 lost to Peruvian Panthers 20.8.128
(Real: 1815 vs 1923)

Awesome match with Peru performing very well yet again, with Quito just falling short despite a great performance. Kennedy kicked 10 for the hosts but many superstars came out in force for the Panthers, including Kennedy's namesake as the Peru captain.

Best
Quito: Kennedy, Griffen, Sandilands, Savage, Redden, Judd, Ebert
Peru: Bontempelli, Martin, Shiel, Kennedy, Fisher, Grundy, Boyd, Mumford, Ward, Rioli

Santiago Otters 15.19.109 lost to Boston Terriers 22.8.140
(Real: 1642 vs 2094)

Not a bad performance by the Terriers who rebound from an insipid round 1, while the Otters fall to back-to-back losses. Jarrad Waite was awesome for the Otters but was let down by the rest of his team, while the Terriers highlights are too long to explore.

Best
Santiago: Waite, Armitage, Dunstan
Boston: Goldstein, Barlow, Pavlich, Pendlebury, Murphy, Cotchin, Dahlhaus, Wallis, Neale, Priddis, Rich, LeCras, Laird

Las Vegas Sinners 18.12.120 defeated Brooklyn Hawks 14.17.101
(Real: 1802 vs 1522)

Nat Fyfe lead the way for the sinners as they get over a narrow round 1 loss, while Brooklyn join them at 1-1 with a worse display than last week. Josh Caddy and Jack Ziebell also turned up strong for LVS while Sam Jacobs was good for the Hawks.

Best
Sinners: Fyfe, Ziebell, Caddy, Lewis, Franklin, Martin, Taylor
Hawks: Jacobs, Dickson, Gibbs, Gunston

elephants

Pure and simple dominance.

Former Terrier Waite proves he can still do this football thing okay every now and then!

Good to see the boys lift themselves back up after last weeks effort. Obviously we are not at the same standard as Boston, & at this point most of the competition, but I'm relieved to see that my worst fears, i.e. not being able to break the hundred point mark, are over.

Good performances by Waite (certainly makes up for the 13 last week), Dunstan, & Armitage and a reassuring debut by Birchall (after the atrocious debuts last week) and strong performances by every player in the Boston line-up hahaha.

I'm expecting more from Ablett in the future but understand his current predicament. Macrae, Hartlett,  and especially Mitch Duncan are really starting to frustrate me (was expecting all to average high 90's to early 100's this season)  >:(

So far not looking good, but hopefully this team, which my off-season list management and rebuilding strategy completely destroyed, can be somewhat competitive by the bye period  :-\

In the short-term, we'll try to manage at least one win - doesn't seem possible so far :P

New Jersey 16.19 115 Defeated Chicago 15.14 104

In a game effected by a large number of late outs and no subs used, the Devils have out lasted the Sharks to cruise to victory. A very solid midfield effort by the Devils was the cornerstone of victory, while the Sharks mids were a let down besides the Captain Selwood.

Changes
Devils: Davis(Emerg) replaced O'shea, Longer(Emerg) OOP replaced Shiels, Carlile(Emerg) replaced Aish
Sharks: McDonald(UTI) replaced Gibson, Yeo(Emerg) replaced McDonald

Best
Devils: Prestia, Gray, Smith, Cunnington, Trelor, Naianui, Carlile
Sharks: McDonald, Selwood, Gaff

Colorado 15.18 102 Lost to San Francisco 17.16 112

Luke Shuey and David Mundy put on a clinic for the Avalanche today but they just didnt get enough support to overcome a very solid Grizzlies outfit. Captain Jack was the only standout for the Grizzlies, but ably assisted by a solid midfield effort, they accounted for a shaky ruck and fwd line.

Changes:
Avalanche: VanBerlo(sub) replaced Tomlinson
Grizzles: Duffield(sub) Replaced Leuenberger

Best:
Avalanche: Mundy, Shuey, Van Berlo
Grizzles: Jack, Duffield, Douglas, Wines, Shaw, Swallow

Anaheim 18.4 112 Lost to Houston 17.11 113

Home ground advantage and captains performances have almost steered the Mighty Ducks to a very close win over a lucky Bombers outfit. A massive effort from the Bombers defence of Rance and Hooker has covered the poor showing of Captain Beams which put them on the back foot to start.

Changes:
Ducks: Hallahan(Sub) replaced Atley
Bombers: Lumumba(UTI) replaced Merrett, Bugg(Emerg) replaced Lumumba

Best:
Ducks: Dangerfield, Heppell, Smith
Bombers: Rance, Hooker, Sloane, Hill
