What have you learnt so far in Round 1?

What I've learnt:

• Don't believe the hype. Newnes was nowhere to be seen yesterday and gave 5 Free's against.
• Griffen looked slow at times and got shut down easily from a tag. Definitely not worth 530k.
• Tigers and blues guns played like spuds.
• 200k mids are definitely not worth it. Vandernberg + Heeny outscored Newton, Cripps & Sheed.
• Steer clear from St Kilda's forwards. At times, they lacked some clean supply and their backline got pelted with inside 50's in the 2nd & 3rd quarter. Also, their forwards kicked less than half their goals.
• Bont - 126 points. Fluke or not, that was impressive after Selwoods hard tag.
• The days of seeing Rucks get 120+ scores could be over.
• Don't get sucked in for Round 1 blue moons. Garlett, Tex, Betts, Docherty - We want to see the goods each week!

Agree to disagree. Brayshaw was really good but I felt that for 200k, I'd get a bit more from those players. NVB had a lively 1st half then disappeared into thin air. Newton was decent throughout the match. Cripps had a bad night, Sheed was useless and De Goey was the sub. There was so much hype about needing to pick 200k mids since the lower mids won't score as much and will be subbed a lot. Heeny and Vanders were fantastic. Even CEY did good for his price. Maybe I have harsh expectations but for 200k, I'd like to see 90's, not 70's.

Brayshaw got subbed out on 86. What more do you want. He outscored quite a few premiums and would have outscored VBD and Heeney if not subbed.
Not that im complaining that man y people wont jump onto him, but I know a lot will trade Cripps to him.

I probably worded it wrong but I'm happy with brayshaws performance. However, I wanted a bit more from the rest of the pack especially Cripps and Sheed. I think De Goey has a good chance to prove himself if he takes Sidebottoms spot.
