I have a similar dilemma tyring to decide between bringing in a forward or mid this week. It's a little hard to predict the top mids at this stage so I'm thinking a forward.

I would pick Goddard in your situation (I brought him in last week) as he's a proven premium who's dropped a bit of cash and now on the way up.

Yeah it is tough. I was sold earlier in the week on Beams and then the murmurs on his knee came out so that is an instant cross. I see solid options everywhere so it is just trying to decide on who to lock in.

Zorko may be another option to consider. Has scores of 104, 61, 106, 76 + 112 and seems to not be copping any attention so he is getting enough of the ball to pump out decent scores and the only top 8 sides Brisbane play in the next 7 rounds are Port Adelaide and Essendon.

Similar price to Goddard but would be a decent POD. He is in 5.4% of teams compared Goddard 16.4%

He is 60k cheaper than Goddard. Essendon do face Freo and North Melbourne in the next 2 weeks.

I'm personally waiting 2 weeks for Goddard and bringing in Zorko this week.

You make a solid point on BJ. I haven't watched the Dons play the last couple so I can't comment on his role but the weeks before that I don't exactly see as great from a fantasy perspective. He is spending a lot of time out of the guts which means less ball, in DT that pretty much limits his ceiling and coming up against Freo who can pretty much take a team out of the game for entire quarters it might be worth looking at him later and after I have watched them a bit more.

He is cheaper then Dahl but I think I would take Dahl because as the season goes on he has a few more pre-seasons under the belt to keep the form up.

I also do have the option of a midfielder as well. Mundy has been in super form to start the year, as have Armitage and Ebert.

Mat0369

I have locked in Gray, still trying to decide if I go forward or midfield and if I do go midfield who out of the 3 I named do I pick?

Mat0369

I ended up bringing in Dahl for Salem, double ouch, hindsight says I should have gone Armitage who I am going to wait on

Round score: 1878

Round 6 rank: 6394

Total points: 11786

Overall: 879

23 trades and 290k in the bank. I am thinking Heeney to McKenzie and then Rich to Mitchell to finish off my forward line.

I can then look at maybe a double downgrade next week if Stretch and Lever continue to look good otherwise I will start off loading Hogan, Clark, Tarrant etc. for mids

Mat0369

Pretty much went as planned for trades. Have gone Pendles with the C so hopefully he can at least match Hepp. After looking at Bellcho's score tonight I need a ruck so Rocky and a ruck are probably what I will target next week

Mat0369

This round was a mess.

Round 7 score 1,685

Round 7 rank 13,871

Total score 13,471

Overall rank 2,108

Donut for Cripps, my E for Hogan was Lonie, McKenzie scored 30, Vanders, Lumumba and Bellcho under 50, Taylor 55, Goldy and Motlop disappointing, Pendles captain, Ibbo taking 3 quarters to score what he scored in the first.....

I wanted to try and bring in Stef Martin but can't afford it, I will wait for him to drop in cash then grab him, two trades I am looking at are Vanders to Rocky and Lonie to Stretch and that leaves me with $322,500

Mat0369

I am putting this in here so I can refer back to it. I need 1 ruck upgrade, Martin is the guy I am looking at. 3 mids, Sidebottom and Armitage are two I will look at post their bye not sure on the 3rd, maybe a round 11 or 13 bye mid will be nice, I want Hodge in defense, not sure on how many guys I will upgrade down back so I will decide what to do later.

Mat0369

Much better this week. I figured I might make some ground on first but only scored 1 point more.

Round 8 score 2,184

Round 8 rank 644

Total score 15,655

Overall rank 1,280

19 trades, $237,500

I have no idea on trades, I know guys I want to target but I just need to figure out downgrade options etc.

Rusty00

It's funny Matt, I have a similar ranking to you, similar number of trades used, and similar cash in the back yet we have fairly different teams ;)

Downgrade targets are going to be tough the next few weeks. I like Amon and if he's named this week you wouldn't have thought he'd get the vest 3 weeks in a row. Can't be confident of his JS moving forward though :-\

my thinking is that Amon has come in for Polec
now given that Polec is out for 6-8 more weeks, could be a viable option
but does his vest-avoidance improve with Cornes now retiring?

very possibly

not a Port fan though (nor do I watch many of their games) so what do I know

Mat0369

Krak with a possible foot injury as well so Amon could be the guy if that is the case. I think I am going to wait for injury reports before I start looking at trades

Mat0369

So if I am looking at Amon as a downgrade, I could move Krak forward for Taz pending BE, that will give me 150k. Then I could either grab a mid, defender or ruck. Mamba to Hodge could be an option. It will leave me with 169k which is still a decent chunk of change. That leaves me with 5-6 spots to upgrade (pending Ibbo) and 17 trades

Mat0369

I ended up doing as above. Hopefully Hodgey kills it tomorrow

Mat0369

17 trades, 169 k

I have been chasing points so I don't know if it is worth dumping Rocky. I was considering Brooksby in for Clark a week early but it means I will have Read as a floating donut. I need to do a bye check as well quickly.

Any thoughts will be appreciated as I won't have much time to look at it tomorrow.

Rusty00

Your bye setup looks pretty good from a premium point of view. You'll need to dump guys like Krak, Clark and probably DeGoey before their byes and you're looking at 19-21 playing each round.

If you traded Rocky for a Rd.13 bye premo mid that would suit your setup nicely.
