I'm currently running all 3 melbourne boys, if one is sub/get dropped in the next week or two then they become Cockatoo/Anderson/Van Berlo

Easier to trade down than up to fix mistakes

We will find out tomorrow but at this stage stage I think Brayshaw is the most likely to be the sub.

Roos likes to start the 18 and 19 year old draftees as the sub. Both Salem and JKH played their first few games in the green vest last year.

Howe has had 0% game time lol

I think VandenBerg has the endurance to run out a full game - Wouldn't be subbed out unless he was really stuffing up

Ok Cheers,
also trying to look to the near future though (Rnds 2-6) when Howe definitely wont be the one getting subbed out.

Salem and JKH were a lot smaller than Brayshaw though. He's a very big body for an 18 year old.

Might go Brayshaw over NVB.. Still not sure :-\

If he avoids the sub vest I would do it, much greater upside in my opinion.

I think i will play it safe and go with Newton as i cant afford all 3. I will then be kicking myself when Brayshaw rips it up but he could always replace Cripps if need be. I think Vandeberg, Heeny, CEY, and Miller represent too much value to shift one of them out.

Bring on Game Day!

I'm running with just Brayshaw, I went with Miller over Vandenberg, and I think Newton will replicate Mitchie's numbers last year, which aren't good enough for me

Where are these comparisons to Michie coming from? Completely unfounded imo

This thread is exactly what I've been researching and stressing over for the last couple of days.
From what I have found, I figure Anderson is gonna be lucky to stay in the team and Miller the same with vest written all over Anderson. Cockatoo has big wraps at Geelong and seems like a genuine chance to play most games early on and all season. (Coach seems to like him).

Now for the 3 melbourne players which I've actually gone in depth with research. I've looked at interviews of them when drafted, general game footage. I Think Newton has the best job security as melbourne really rate him and think he should have been playing at the top level last year but didn't get the chance. Brayshaw would have played the nab games if it wasn't for some head knocks at training so they took the safe option with him and he then played really well in the vfl game. Brayshaw will play 15 games this year I reckon. I think they really rate him highly and he doesn't need to prove him self as such to melbourne.
Were as vandenberg I think does need to prove himself more. Being 22 and hasn't played at an extremely high level he has had a lot of work to do. He looks like he really will need to earn his spot and probably will be the first one cut from the team if need be.

Currently I have newton locked in and have vandenberg in my team. As soon as brayshaw isn't starting as the sub I'll be puting in brayshaw in instead of vandenberg before the game.

I think rookies in the mids this year is just way to hard. With ellis yolemen looking good but bad js.

If you wandering what my final rookie (low priced) line up will be for mids, this will be it:

NVB, cripps, Newton, brayshaw, heeney, cockatoo and Ellis-yolmen.
If you asked how confident I am, the answer is about the same as you with your line up hahah

Man who just moved from a club where he couldn't break into the best 22? I think Newto won't do as well as people hope this year, but he could prove me wrong

Why Miller?
Arnt you worried he won't get more games after the first round?

would rather newton or vanden. bray still rather young

Don't be fooled by age, has the potential to replicate Wines debut season.
+1

Just waiting to see who is the sub now
