$273,800.

With the potential to go imo as high as 90 avg without Libba and Griffen. Macrae, Dahlhaus or Bonts will get the tag first imo.

Is he a better option than a Sheed/Newton/NVB/Cockatoo despite being more of a low-midpricer than a high-rookie pricer...

Is Jong (M6) and Vandenberg (M10) a better choice than say Sheed/Newton (M6) and Cockatoo (M9)???? I think so.

He's just keeping Clay Smith's midfield spot warm until round 4 or 5

Is he a walk up start with the emergence of Macrae and Dahlhaus as more outside midfielders, and Bonts and Jong (imo) as extracters? Along with Boyd. (Not sure if I've forgotten anyone) Doggies have a lot of half forward/midfield options, so they could use Smith and Jong as inside players, Macrae as an outsider and Bonts and Dahlhaus as half forward/midfielders and Boyd as a half back general?

If Jong plays 2 bad games in a row he'll get dropped for Koby Stevens. Not really a risk I'd want to take on a player who costs so much.

And you forgot Wallis.

I don't see him hitting 90. I reckon Wallis is a much better option.

I'm sure Jong will get better, but cannot for the life of me understand the hype he is getting

may have something to do with averaging 90 from 3 NAB games and 273K

1.  He played 6 matches last year as a tagger.  (at an average of 51 SC points) for a total of 10 games played.

2.  Yes, he averaged 90 in the NAB, but tagger roles are not often utilised in the NAB series

3.  A Cripps, Brayshaw, Newton or NVB are better options considering the saving of $60K

Just my opinion

My thoughts too Fid, hence my previous comment

Wont be surprised if Jong does average 80ish, but reckon we can get that from cheaper options, and I don't think Jong's JS is rock solid either

Such an awkward price too
