Hi Jay,

I'm getting rid of Bartel and KK this week and have $67,500 in the bank. I have Bonts in mids (who I can swing to fwds) and my Def 6-8 are McIntosh, Oxley and Saad.

I am considering one of the following:

Swan and Hibberd, and no cash,

or

Sloane and Byrne/Andrews/Kelly/Whitecross and $200k.

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jay

Ive got all the rookies sorted, my only issue is Yarran, he is going to get 3 weeks id say in which case he is gawnnn from my side. im thinking a straight swap for Mcdonald, I have $3k only in the bank so I dont really have any room to move upwards, do you think he is my best  option at this price?
My only other option was to punt Newnes as well and down grade him to a rookie and make Yarran Brodie Smith....??

Cheers

Hey hey JJ,

Def = Shaw Hibberd Lamumba  Newnes Oxley McIntosh - Saad Goodes (by name only)

Would it be time to cull Goodes and grab Smith the Crow?

OR would that be too strong a defence?

Only other cash cow close to cull is Newton.

I wonder about just waiting and holding.

Cheers for your opinion.

Edit - would mean bench could be 2 of McIntosh, Saad , Oxley or even Newnes. Just seems too strong.

Thoughts on the Bont?

Good question.

I could do Lamb to The Bont.

Jayman brother..

Whats your thoughts on Uselesschambers at F4.i have 142k in the kitty so can grab Bonts if recommended..
I'm fine with him at F4 mate. We didn't pick him for his potential to become a premium, we picked him for ruck cover and he still provides that. If you trade him out, and then cop an injury in your rucks, you'll be spewing.

Just hold for now, there's bigger fish to fry.

Jayman,

I have $284k. I have Goodes. Together I have $512,700.

I want Smith, but he is $524,900.

I can afford any defender except Smith and Hodge.

Is Birchall a good choice? Only played 2 games, and looked good on weekend.

Thoughts?
He's an excellent choice mate. Just had a look at who you can grab with 512k and Birchall is my pick of the bunch. And only in 2.6% of teams :)

Go for it.

Swan and Hibberd in my opinion. Mainly because Swan is probably the biggest lock in the game. Also, I'm not sold on any of Byrne, Andrews, Kelly and Whitecross yet. If you're set on this option though, WhiteX is the pick of that bunch.

Can I ask why you want Hibberd this week? Averaging 75 with a BE of over 100, I think wait a week on him. If you're looking for a guy around a similar price, Birchall is your man.

Agree, Birch will almost certainly average 90+ this year.

Tough one mate. No way you could swing him into your mids and grab Krakeour or Gregson? Otherwise, I think you're better off getting a rookie than a mid-pricer like McDonald, he's already gone up in price too much.

I'd say Yaz --> WhiteX and then wait and see what happens from there.

Why do you have to get rid of Yarran?

Hey Doc, hope you've had a solid start to the season. I'm actually in a similar predicament to you, stuck with Goodes and debating whether to cull Newton a week early.

I don't think trading Goodes up to a premium is worth it at this stage - the rookies are performing so well that it almost seems like a waste to have one of them on the bench. So I'm looking at downgrading Goodes to a Whitecross type or just holding and hope he somehow gets some consistent game time - surely he's worth more than 200k ???

If none of the downgrade targets jump out at you, I'd just hold. Think Smith only gains you like 10 points over one of the rookies.
