Hey Jay,

Thank you in advance for reading this!

Happy with my side generally except for... Newness at D4!! (Shaw, Gibson, Kelly)

68K in the bank with 4 options. Would you:

Structure A (maintaining structure):

1. Do nothing. Give Newnes one more week.

2. Trade Newness for B Smith, using 1 trade.

Structure B (swing Newness into the midfield, switching with Saad. Now using Saad as one of two starting Defensive Rookies alongside McIntosh and Goodes). Seems to be the cookie cutter defensive structure:

3. Goldstein - Bellchambers (have Naitanui as R2) / Newness - the world is my oyster (I'm thinking Lewis or R Gray)... leaving a truckload of money in the bank

4. Controversial! Ablett - Lewis / Newnes - R Gray (leaving approx. 58K in the bank)

Cheers mate.

Hey jay.

I had a rocky/beams mid strategy due to their draw.  Now that that idea is ratshower I'm gonna dump rocky and saad and grab a midfielder and a forward to make up for rockies points.  I dont really wanna spend more than $530k for the midfielder.  My other considerations are swallow and wines.

The only reason I'm considering Montagna is due to his draw.

My Mids are Abs, Pendles, Beams, ??, Stevens, Brayshaw, Cripps, Heeney, Vandenburg, CEY & Miller.
Considering Montagna, Swallow and Wines.

Forwards are Gray, Martin, Bennell, Swan, ??, Salem, Clark, Hogan.
Am considering Bonts, Dahlhaus and Tex to replace Saad.

Thoughts?

Hey Mate, do you think its worth using trades early to bring in cheap and playing players?
I had Heeney, Vandenberg, m. Clark, Salem and c. Smith all playing this week, but none of my bench got any game time.
Should I begin to switch out players like V-Rainbow, Laverde, and c. Daniel for players like McIntosh, Saad and Ellis-Yeolman?
New to the game so trying to work out the transfer situation and price-rise mechanics (if its anything like FPL and you don't build team value from the start you're rooted midway through the season).

Yep Big Mac gave you some really solid advice. I'd fix your rookie setup ASAP, its crucial to have a great range of rookies otherwise you won't be able to generate cash.

Go for it mate, try and bring in McIntsosh, Saad and Ellis-Yol befoer they go up in price.

Yep no worries. Also, would there be any issue sticking Saad in the midfield for the time being?

Hey Jay,

I'm not happy with Lycett's score over the weekend, and I'm fearful he'lll keep scoring these sub-80 scores. I'm thinking of upgrading him to Swan. Should I hold off or go for it before the Round 2 lockout?
Also, I'm thinking of a double trade after Round 2: Minson/Goldy to Leuenberger, then Cockatoo to T Adams. Any thoughts?
Did you pick him for one round mate? I wouldn't have thought so. You picked him because you obviously saw value there and I don't think one round should affect that. Back yourself.

If Lycett pulls out another shower game, then consider.
Walker? Not much Collingwood can throw at him
Walker is good. Don't see why you need to trade this week though.

No worries at all mate, happy to help out!

Honestly, I would just hold. I don't think you should trade Newnes after just one bad score - prices don't change after this week so if he spuds it again then you can look at options.

Goldstein and Ablett are both premium players so would hold onto them too :)

Get rid of Lamb or Ahmed Saad? Im thinking of getting Membrey or Mcgrath as replacement since they'll play more

Out of those, Lamb should be the one to go - he isn't playing this week. McGrath impressed last week, I've got him myself :)

JPK for me mate. He's so consistent, guaranteed 110 every week. I fear Treloar will be a bit up and down.

Struggling with my onfield rooks this week Jay. Gotta pick 3 of:
Newton
Vandenberg
CEY
Cripps
Heeney
Can you see one of the Dees jagging the red vest this week with Toump + JKH out?
Cunningham is out for the Swans.. Does that mean Heeney is closer to a vest?
And Lyons now out for the Crows...
Confused! Anyone else?

Nah no issue at all with that mate, gives you a little extra flexibility :)
