Keep KK for another week? Can upgrade to any def aside from Malcheski.
Yep keep him another week and re-assess. If he spuds it up, then we'll look at options but Brodie Smith stands out as one you should look at.

Thanks Jayman, appreciated.

Hey Mate, do you think its worth using trades early to bring in cheap and playing players?
I had Heeney, Vandenberg, m. Clark, Salem and c. Smith all playing this week, but none of my bench got any game time.
Should I begin to switch out players like V-Rainbow, Laverde, and c. Daniel for players like McIntosh, Saad and Ellis-Yeolman?
New to the game so trying to work out the transfer situation and price-rise mechanics (if its anything like FPL and you don't build team value from the start you're rooted midway through the season).

Ahh mate! You should've got on here a week earlier

No worries though - can be easily fixed. Just requires you to use probably all 4 trades for this round and next

I'd suggest something like

Rainbow ---> Saad
Goddard ---> Mcintosh

Then next week

Laverde ---> Ellis Yolmen
Daniel ---> Hogan

Should see you in a pretty good spot for the first price rise

Hey Holz,

I'm not happy with Lycett's score over the weekend, and I'm fearful he'lll keep scoring these sub-80 scores. I'm thinking of upgrading him to Swan. Should I hold off or go for it before the Round 2 lockout?
Also, I'm thinking of a double trade after Round 2: Minson/Goldy to Leuenberger, then Cockatoo to T Adams. Any thoughts?

Jay I have a question. I kind of have my mind made up already and also asked Holz but here we go

I have Steele Sidebottom in my squad. Some cow kicked him in the thumb in the last quarter while he was on his way to 150. He ended up breaking his thumb and is now having a pin inserted and will be out 6-8 weeks. My midfield looks like this

Pendles, Selwood, ____, Hanners, Steven, Cripps, Newton, Heeney (Vanders, Ellis-Yolmen, Miller)

Now the guys I am considering are Gaz, Fyfe, Sloane and Lewis. These are all guys I considered over the pre-season so I am not just going to jump on guys like Lewis and Sloane because they had one good round. I decided not to start Gaz but have a bit of cash in the bank which means I can actually bring him in for Sidey (leaves me 29k). It might hinder me next week if I do need to make a few correctional trades, but he could also go big.

Anyway, out of those 4 who do I bring in?

Posting it twice doesn't really help mate - Jay will get around to your question when he has time.

Meanwhile, I think Lycett ---> Swan could be a really solid trade, although ideally you would wait until next round just to see if the trend in their scores looks like continuing, or if it was a one-off

I don't think trading Goldy would be a good move - He tonned up last week in a game where his team was smashed all around the ground. IMO he will be the top ruck this season

Trading Minson could be an option, but again, he scored well last week so I see no need to trade him off the back of that performance. Leuenberger could come in for him, but I'd want to be a bit more sure of Stefan Martin's role in the side first

Bringing in Taylor Adams would be more of a gut decision I feel, he is young and has potential, so will score highly occasionally, but will also put in some shockers. Personally I wouldn't be bringing him in.

Jay

Sorry lads, have had a uni assignment to get done. Will get around to your questions now :)

Yep Big Mac gave you some really solid advice. I'd fix your rookie setup ASAP, its crucial to have a great range of rookies otherwise you won't be able to generate cash.

Go for it mate, try and bring in McIntsosh, Saad and Ellis-Yol befoer they go up in price.

Unlucky break their mate, Sidey was a good pick I thought  :-X

Out of those 4, I'd go Fyfe. Basically just process of elimination.

Ablett - Obviously wasn't 100% last week and I fear that might carry through for the next couple of rounds. I think you can pick him up cheaper.

Sloane and Lewis - Neither are a proven 120+ player like Fyfe.

Did you pick him for one round mate? I wouldn't have thought so. You picked him because you obviously saw value there and I don't think one round should affect that. Back yourself.

If Lycett pulls out another shower game, then consider.

Walker? Not much Collingwood can throw at him
