Ask Jay: Round 4

I'm trying to choose between Minson and Maric, Maric seems he might score a bit better, but Minson allows me to get Rockliff, whereas Maric can get me any other mid. I'm also thinking of going with Mumford and settling for Griffen in my mid.

I'd go Maric and any other mid (Pendles, Fyfe, Selwood, JPK. You can't go wrong) purely because Minson declined majorly last year and I'd be afraid he does it again. Especially with no Libba around, his hitouts to advantage may be down. Mumford is the highest scorer, but also an injury risk. I'd take Maric, cover him with Bellchambers in your fwd line and then lock in a premium mid.

I actually have Lycett in my forwards, should I downgrade him to TBC and look at Rockliff?

Nope, Lycett is fine. I have him too ;)

I honestly don't think Rockliff is worth starting with - he'll come down at some stage.

So what mid would you go with? I already have Ablett, Pendles and Fyfe

Only thing I can suggest is trying to bring Van Berlo in for Cockatoo. All other lines are fine.

I trust you've done your research on both Bonts and Lycett - these aren't common picks. I'd be a little worried that Bonts cops a lot more attention this year. Lycett I really like though :)

Maric over Minson is the right call. Wilbur will drop a decent amount because of the new ruck scoring format.

Everyone has the F4-6 for a reason mate. They represent great value, I'd stick with it :)

Just pick whoever is named out of Daniel, Steele and Goddard. Think the team selections will make this a relatively easy decision. I'd say Steele is the most likely but we'll see.

Thoughts on Titch, Dale Thomas and Tex?

Tex > Titch > Dale.

I've just been burned by Dale too many times in the past, I don't trust him. The other two are solid selections though. Tex more proven having a 100avg season in the past. He has an easy draw to start off so expect some good scores early.

Just can't bring myself to pick Titch considering he was not even best 22 last season.
