Jay

Hey lads, ran this thread 2 years ago and it ended up becoming pretty popular, getting over 25,000 views. So I thought I'd start up something similar again.

I'm no genius, finishing at 1,292 in SC last year but I'll try my best to help you out.

So for the next few days leading up to Round 1 ask me any SC question and I'll get to it ASAP. I'll keep this thread open during the season for "who to start/captain" questions you may have and also for if some reason if you want to trade in the next 2 weeks. After round 2, Holz is opening up his own weekly thread for trading advice. I'll be happy to help out if you want a second opinion, or if he is busy, but Holz is the best SCer on this forum so treat his opinion like gold once his thread is up :)

Fire away.

If he's named round 1, he's in my side. We have this conversation every year and yet he always delivers. The upside and consistency he brings makes him the perfect captain and it's too tricky to gain enough money to afford him mid-season.

Good choice :)

Cockatoo vs Brayshaw vs Newton vs Anderson

Which one with the knowledge that they will need to be fielded each week?

Love it jay.
A question which will help heaps of people.
Pending none start as sub, who would you play on the field in round one in order?

Anderson, Heeney, Freeman, VandenBerg, Lambert, Miller, EllisYoleman.

Great stuff Jay!

Thoughts on Gibson, Hodge and Malceski? Not overly worried about their starting prices, just how they'll go through the season

Spite

Nice jay! Thoughts on Griffen?

Anderson > Cockatoo > Brayshaw > Newton

I just don't see the value in Newton :-X Anderson and Cockatoo are both highly rated youngsters for good teams and I reckon they'll get some games early on. Anderson in particular has shown he has some pretty decent scoring ability too.

Why is Jay's Team Celtics so awful?  :P

If we knew that none would be the sub, I'd say Heeney > CEY > Miller > Anderson > Freeman > Vandeberg > Lambert

Vanderberg I like though, has solid JS for a rookie but I can't see his JS being too high. Heeney the most talented, by a long way.

And is Wells worth a pick as a stepping stone?

I've actually had Gibson in my side for the last month and only just changed him to Hodge today. Just like Hodge's durability and potential to go off for a huge score. Proven history of high scoring.

Malceski I haven't even considered. Reason being, he is probably as expensive as he'll ever be throughout the season and with the change in clubs, its just hard to justify paying that.

Yep nice pick, been in my side for a while. Tough though, there's a lot of good pics around that kind of price range. Dangerfield is only a bit higher and then there's guys like Swallow and Steven for a little less. I like the pick, but if you have the cash, grab Danger.
