Wow 5am swim and even Walshy jumped in
Walshy in budgy smugglers would be enough to scare the boys into winning for sure!

Crows by 27
It should be a good match, considering the competition Port has faced over the last month there is a chance of fatigue. If it's not at least a close match Crow's fans should be worried - they need to either win or come close to prove they are a lock in the top 8.

Was quite a fan of Phil Walsh until he directed those comments at Cornes earlier this week. I think a lot of people at Port feel the same way when we compare Richardson's coaching of St Kilda to Walsh's adjustments to Adelaide. It's expected that teams will emulate the top sides game plans and style but if Walsh is doing it with insider knowledge (almost the equivalent of trade secrets) I can see the Corne's frustration.

There would be a bit of tongue in cheek in that comment i think. Media have had fun with it.

Yeah would have to agree, and Cornes is a cheeky player. I don't feel any different about the Crows with the accusations, just don't like Phil Walsh (anyone & everything else at the club is fine).

There's always the possibility that the Saint have in fact attempted to style a game after the Power, we just cannot recognise it because the players are either too young, too old, or not of AFL standard  :P But they have seemed to adopt their own style under Burgess. Again, when AFL.com.au covered it they impartially stated that teams usually model their game plans after the top side and their contenders. I guess it just feels a bit uncomfortable when the Crows are modelling elements of their game after Port (it would be like West Coast doing the same with Freo) of course, Victorian teams do it with their rivals all the time but it doesn't attract any attention (because they aren't real rivalries imo - too historical)

I was always hoping Phil would bring some of Ports game with him, we needed some it tbh. ;)

Enjoy the swim
No they won the ground ball :P  and the tackles, possessions, clearances ..............

Mailman the 2nd

That probably warrants a swim more than losing the stats and the game

Correct me if Im wrong. Phill Walsh was an assistant coach at Port so therefore some of the game plan and philosophies were brought to the club by him. I keep hearing he is a "master tactician" so you would also have to think that he would have played a large role in game style and tactics.
So, has he stolen/copied/emulated Ports game?? I would say no. He has brought his own style to the club, just as any coach does and put in to practice something that works. Whats the issue?

We just need to steal a kicking coach now  ;)

+1

Good point, I'm pretty sure he was the longest serving coach at the Power until last year (he served during the 'Mark Williams era' along with Alastair Clarkson as assistant coaches). So arguably, he would have contributed a lot to the Hinkley resurgence over the past two years.
