Annnnnnd we've found a flaw in the resting rule.

The best teams are never going to be beaten if everyone rests their best player against them.

This is a good point.

Not a flaw, this was always seen as an option when it was conceived.

All it will take is for one match where the lesser team would've won if they played full strength and it will cause a dramatic rethink in the tactic. And if that never happens, it means it never made a difference

Hellopplz

I almost always try to play full strength. Tend to just rest depth sort guys for a possible 7-10 point boost the next round, as never know, can always cause an upset in a week by sheer fluke!

But others may not see that, so rather try to help win come a more winnable game, rather than against one of the top teams in the league who are heads and shoulders above the rest.

Haven't spoken to AK about it, but I cant see us ever using the rest option

What's not to say that the following week your premo that you rested puts in an average score anyway, meaning it didn't work and you missed out on their good score the previous week

Jay

C'mon guys look at Holz's team... Would be stupid if I didn't rest.

I got the softest draw, dont have to play them.

Dublin? Are they one of the undefeated WXV teams? I don't think so.

Maybe meow trying to take me ou,  because his team sure cant.

Bit harsh mate. You know I have a 100% winning record over possibly the best WXV coach CF/HB? Oh, that's right, I have a 100% winning record against you too ;)

Never say never but not in Round One, you just dunno what may happen.

My tips... (Note I haven't really looked at the teams!)

Cape Town to take out Berlin in Germany, with Fyfe to have a quiet one.

Moscow to defeat Cairo, sorry Sands, I think you're in for a struggle.

Christchurch to 'upset' Tokyo, who have a habit of losing matches they shouldn't.

Dublin to defeat a spirited Pacific

New Delhi to snatch a victory over a slow starting London

Buenos Aires to be SMASHED by New York

PNL to be heart broken by a stunning Ablett led Rio de Janeiro

Mexico City to flog Seoul

Toronto comfortably over Beijing

I know this is your opinion, but you're wrong.   :P

Geee thanks Os - perhaps we should actually rest a gun this week then?  ;)

We are still waiting on teams to be announced, in particular Montagna because it's not clear if he will be in or not.

Can we list a team now, and then edit it after full teams are announced tomorrow and make a change if need be?
