Shazzaberg still listed as a month away

If I were to go in buy and hold on an injured rook it'd be Nic Newman. I won't be though.

They're lying. I bet he plays VFL in 2 weeks and he'll be in the AFL by round 4. I don't want to pick a nothing rookie like McIntosh then sideways him to a real player while making just 50K.
I hope your taking the piss

3:00 mark

Doesn't look like a player hobbling around on one leg to me. Some people recover from things more quickly than others. Tony Liberatore recovered from his ACL in 16 weeks. Krakouer did his knee at the end of the preseason and was back for finals.
But then that makes him the perfect down grade option and everyone in supercoach will pick him. Are you sure your not taking the piss?

Downgrade who? McIntosh? I doubt he'll make enough money to justify the trade. McIntosh might play 2 games and never be seen again. Could just be a sideways trade. Clurey anyone?

I have thought about picking shazzaberg myself for the reasons outlined. Seems a smart option

Really hoping he doesn't debut until round 4 or 5 at least and becomes a good downgrade option.

felsty

Saad (Oxley, McIntosh)
Cripps, Sheed, CEY (Vandenberg (pending upgrade), Heeney, Miller)
(Read)
Salem, Clark, Hogan (Krakour (pending upgrade), Lambert)

Sheed is an interesting one. I thought there would be more people on him tbh

Fair comments about McIntosh

I think McIntosh, Hamling, basically all the rookies besides Saad and Brown could be out a week or two later if named rd1

They'd have to perform very well to hold/cement their spot

With that being said I'm sure I'll stick pick one of them. If I need to burn a corrective trade down back because one of my rookies turns into a Georgiou/Clurey, then I think I'd prefer to do that and keep my current structure which has allowed me to not go so deep and have so much $ invested down back

Even Saad too you'd think. He played his way into the team but he could very easily play his way out.

True

I think there's a pretty high chance that most of us will end up picking a def rookie or two that are going to get dropped  :-\

Has played well in the preseason so I expect him to be named, Newman is injured so there's a place available.

And Morris playing forward opens a spot in the back half.

The beauty of this situation is all are the same price so a round 3 corrective trade can easily be done provided one hasn't picked them all.

At this stage I'm rolling with:

Saad (Oxley, McIntosh)
Cripps Heeney CEY (Vandenberg, Miller, Krakouer)
(Read)
Salem Clark Lambert (Hogan Lamb)

Cripps may be downgraded if I decide to start with Ablett, but it's pretty much the same as everyone else!

That's true, but they could all get dropped after a couple of games  :o

If like me you are only picking one then it could work in our favour, while those who have 3-4 struggle to field a team we can sit back and enjoy a defensive loophole. Either way we will be sitting pretty. I have confidence in Saad to hold his place so it comes down to D7 & D8, Brown won't get dropped so it then becomes a question of McIntosh, Hamling, Oxley & Edwards making the grade. The law of averages dictates that not all will make it but there should be at least one gem amongst that group.

For those who like taking a risk, one could even field McIntosh on the Friday and if he goes well, then field Saad on the Saturday. This could open the door for an extra midfielder like Steven as opposed to a D3 or D4 premo.

Tuesday 2pm we could be absolutely laughing for a back rookie with JS.

Sit tight gents.

Nelson another one to add to the list of 117k basement mids. And cavka is out of the equation for at least 2 months. And WC doesn't have a midfield.

Not much love for Tarrant, I would have thought he's a much better prospect than Hogan.
