It could work but very likely to fail miserably.

The JS of the defensive rookies picked is very questionable. 7 premo mids is too much, need to drop 1 or 2 to high end rookies and bolster the defence.

crowls

Backs too weak and need some upgrades.  Ok to have a strong mid line but to leave out three top scorers and lack mid rookies to generate cash will leave you struggling to upgrade later.

What is your plan to get Ablett and Pendles into the team where is the upgrade coming from and when.
Step back and review your strategy.   Decide on strategy and adjust team to suit.
1. GNR, Mid Pricers, Mixture with hopeful breakouts.
2. Once selected review team against strategy and adjust
3. If goal is to have 22 scoring 100 at year end,  how are you going to achieve that.   When will you upgrade from who to who, where will cash come from.

So here it is my Final 2015 side (Hopefully). The last few years I have played it pretty safe and had pretty similar sides to everyone else. I have finished in the top 5000 and won some leagues and have been pretty happy.  This season however I have tried to go for something different. I have taken a lot of risks.  They may pay off the may not. Time will tell but it should make for an interesting season.  Most of the players I have researched thoroughly and I believe my reasoning is sound.  I will explain my selections below.

Defence.

Pretty Self Explanatory here. Hoping for KK and Lumumba to Explode and make me some money and possibly turn in to keepers. Hoping for some decent cash from Saad Goodes McIntosh and Hamling as well.  Gibson I think will have a lot more freedom with the introduction of Frawley in to the side and will rack up the intercept marks. Hopefully should score similar to what Scott Thompson did a few years ago for north. Hoping for an average of 100 + Now we get to the player I can see you all going why â€" Tom Mcdonald.  McDonald Played all 3 NAB challenge games and averaged 101. Pretty Impressive. He is also playing in an improving Melbourne side however the ball should still be in there defensive half quite a lot. More points here. The last reason is McDonald’s Consistency. Looking at his scores over the past 4 seasons he has averaged 74, 73, 75 and 70 ppg.  In 2014 he played 21 games with a highest score of 106. If he can improve these averages of the last 4 seasons by 15-20 ppg I can see him becoming a keeper. I know most of you will think im crazy however im backing him in.

Midfield

No Ablett for obvious reasons here. Not sold on his shoulder and hopefully his price will drop and I will get him in.  Bulk of the points here should come from Dependelbury, Beams, Lewis and Jones.  Pendulbury is Self- Explanatory.  Beams I think will improve on his score’s from last year and hopefully should be able to get free from the tag at different times throughout the game.  Lewis. Best Midfielder in the best team in the comp. Expecting him to average 120 ppg this year. Heart and soul of the hawk’s midfield. Now Nathan jones I can see you going another risky proposition. My logic is that he averaged 108 last year in a very weak Melbourne team. Most games he was getting roughed up and had 3 blokes hanging off him as he was the only Melbourne playing giving a stuff. With a bit more help this season expect his average to bump up. Neale I see as a breakout year. For this im trusting my gut and NAB challenge form (I know I know not that reliable). Mitch Wallis I See as under-priced massively.  Averaged 106 in NAB cup. Tick.  In 2012 he averaged 87 dropping to 71 in 2013 and 63 in 2014. Seems to have a new lease on life under a new coach and if he can reach his numbers from 2012 and improve on them slightly he should make me a good amount of cash. This is a big IF. Cripps, Vandenberg, Ellis-Yeolman, Miller and Lambert are my rookies subject to teams being released.

Ruck

This is where I spent the most amount of time out of my whole side. I had Nic-Nat then I didn’t then I did and so on. Ideally I wanted Goldstein and Maric however couldn’t quite squeeze them in due to money.  Minson I Think could get back to his AA form under a new coach and with the new scoring for rucks think he could be quite successful.  I looked at last season’s hitouts. Minson finished 3rd in the league behind Sandilands and mumford with 36. Maric came home strong last year and in an improving tigers side I think he will be a good pick. Cox is there due to him being the cheapest ruck with FWD eligibility and for VC loophole.

Forwards

Gray. Absolute superstar one of the first players I locked in. Bennell and Dahlhaus both averaged good scores in the NAB cup and have consistently improved there averages each season over the last 3. This is there year. Breakouts.  Swan was the hard one for me. Didn’t want him in my side to be honest. I just don’t like the guy but too cheap to turn down. Salem and Clark as I think they are the best  for both cash generation and JS out of the rookies and Byrne and Daniel on the pine subject to selections.

Well if you have made it through this essay thanks for reading I am genuinely interested in your thoughts and criticisms.

Honestly not expecting this to pan out but you never know is supercoach

Cheers.

Loving this team, looks great! Gee, you'd be doing alright if everyone plays to potential.

bkp130

Big IF though. Should Be an Interesting season. Still tinkering a little bit but happy with the structure.

bkp130

Update my side again and im finally happy ready and locked for round 1. Please let me know your thoughts.

Bully

I think this team will make a good start but will be reigned in after people start with their upgrades. No Ablett, Fyfe, Selwood, Rocky, JPK Martin, Bartel, Shaw, Simpson, Deledio & Franklin. All these guys will be in the top 10 in their respective positions, that's a truckload of trading to be done.

Bully

Much better with those additions, although the midfield will get smashed. You need a reliable VC/C combination so Ablett/Fyfe/Pendles/Rocky must come in.

bkp130

Yeah looking at it now i might be a bit thin in the midfield. Thought i was locked in but now im so unsure

crowls

Wallis/Rich to Cockatoo,  more cash generation, and free up cash.
McDonald to Newnes - has more mid time and will go up min 10-15 points.
Dalhouse to Bont.   if he doesnt get 2nd year blues will outscore Dahlous be POD and save you 60K
bennel to Ward.

bkp130

Already have the Bont Mate. He is sitting at M5 Currently

I kinda agree with you about rich though i have been mulling that over in my head.

I must be the only one not sold on newnes. Just for mine havent seen enough out of him to think its going to be a breakout year.

arbel

The backline is quite thin. Think you'll be missing out on points.
Bont and Bennell if you want them should be in the FWD line, they are taking places of better mids, Unless you plan to move them to FWD once you start trading otherwise there is no way those 2 would be top 8 mids by years end.
Rucks and FWDs are fine. I'm not a fan of Dal but that is personal choice.
Not a bad team though
