He shouldn't be getting a game the way he's playing in his current role. It's not working for him or us as a team.

Chuck him down back where he does his best work and order should be restored.

Chucking him down the back does not make him any more skilled he is still keeping a good player out , if the Tiges go with this attitude we may as well throw the towel in now , if Hardwick is not going to make the hard decisions because someone is in the leadership group we may as well put him in the bin with Morris because it is make or break for us this year like it or not .

Morris' offensive skillset = poor
Morris' defensive skillset = quite decent

That's what you're not seeing shaker; Morris defensively is really quite okay at what he does, and there probably isn't anyone in the magoos that could do what he does down back at the same level. Offensively though I agree he is poor and needs to improve, and no way should he continue to play in this forward role.

Morris is decent, he just sucks as a forward. Like he's barely VFL forward level. Surely Hardwick will wake up and play him back next week.
Sorry he is a SPUD

Not really, he's well within the best 22 (as a defender) looking at Richmond's individual performances. He's incredibly consistent too, not at an elite level but the Tigers only have 1 elite defender anyway.

He's easily on par with any of the rest of your back 6 apart from Rance

So you are saying our backs are rubbish , well I agree with you if he is a must in our backs , after today's performance we have gone nowhere since last year I'm just saying I don't think he would get a game in any other club and that is a bad reflection on where the Tiges are heading under this coach

No, he would get a game at half the AFL clubs. He's an average defender, decent enough. He's not rubbish, you're just talking in hyperbole with nothing in the way of evidence to back it up.

Look at his stats compared to any other small defender. The reason Richmond haven't moved at all from last year is because he's playing in a suboptimal position

Please his only attribute is his willingness to throw his body at the ball or the opponent with no regard for himself that is not good enough to be successful today you must be an athlete as well , what are they going to do when Lids , Conca , Foley Edwards plus some of the young guys are back or knocking at the door just not play them because he is in the leadership group , Hardwick has some tough decisions to make that will decide his and the Tigers future

All 4 of those players coming back are midfield/forward types no? Morris isn't competing with them to get a spot

Jroo

Morris was close to an All-Australian defender a couple of years ago. Shoulder injuries have flowered him up lately. He's a shower fwd, but as a defender he's comfortably best 22. I'm pretty sure he won't play fwd anymore, I think dimma mentioned something in his presser. Was chucked back today after Dickson, Dahl and co. murdered us.

29 touches and a goal for Chris Knights against Footscray in a VFL practice game, must be selected to play the Lions next week.

Ricochet

Boys didn't see the game, how was Lambert on debut?

Honestly don't even remember seeing him (though I'm trying to erase yesterday's game from my memory) that much. Also hurt his shoulder and I don't know how serious it is. I don't think we'll see him next week, particularly with Lids to come back and Knights' flawless form.

Ricochet

Yeh Knights has to come in soon surely. Adds so much X Factor up fwd

Toga

Lambert was ok, but the forward line looked really dysfunctional as a whole so it was hard to get a grasp of how the players were going individually. Copped a knock to the AC joint and didn't last much longer after that before being subbed out, not sure if he'll miss weeks because of it but yeah Knights and Deledio have to come in anyways so we probably won't see him for a while.

Toga

The Barometer suggesting that Daniel Butler could be a sneaky chance for games given the Steve Morris experiment has failed - Butler ranked No 1 for forward pressure at junior level last year.

Personally would like to see Astbury, Edwards, Deledio in for Batchelor, Petterd and Lambert.

Literally just read it and came to post that, damn it Toges.  :P

But yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they were the changes. Add in Chris Knights, maybe at the expense of Grimes or Gordon.

Toga

Would love to see Knights come in somehow - could give Gordon or Lloyd a bit of a rest maybe.

Nige

Lloyd needs to stay in the side imo. Knows where the goals are and he does good things in our forward 50.
