I think attributing last night to lids being out is a fair cop out

You lost the contested possessions by 32. Clearances by 21. Tackles by 20. That's not 'missing a couple players'. That's effort, and Richmond showed none of it last night
I'm fully willing to admit that we were completely beaten all ends up by the Crows last night.

I suppose it's just amusing that we really can't seem shrug the habit of not being able to win without Deledio in the team.

Stress less peeps. We have won 20 out of our past 27 games.
Came against a red hot Adelaide side on their home ground that needed the win to keep finals hopes alive.
No Deledio, Edwards or Griffiths leaves our forward line very shallow but we will have lids and titch back this week.

Top 4 kept alive with Sydney going down to Geelong but I think it's more than likely we will finish 5th or 6th now which is where I and most people had us at the start of the year.

Looking forward to a good end to the year and a big first finals win since 2001!

It kinda just dawned on me that being top 4 would have actually been a good thing, not just for the double chance, but because we've basically beaten all the top 4 sides (not including WCE who caught us after the bye).

Finishing 5-8 means we're gonna play one of the teams we've struggled against this year. Here's hoping we can get some redemption.

Yeah would definitely love a free swing at Freo in the first final to secure a home prelim but I think it's gonna be tough now.
We just have to make sure we win enough games to get 5th or 6th so we definitely get a home final and don't risk going interstate.

Well, assuming the Swans do enough to get back into 4th, we won't have to go interstate at all regardless of our place from 5-8. That's also assuming the ladder stays as is with Geelong, North and the Dogs being the other teams with us. Realistically, we can will our remaining 4 games which should probably leave us in 6th at worst which means a home final.  8)

Adelaide are the ones that are right in the mix and they have a few soft games to come. We should win our next 3 though and secure 5th or 6th which garuntees us. That home final. I think Sydney will push into the 4 and the dogs slip but it will be interesting to see what the last month holds. Very tight finish

This Gold Coast game is the type that worries me we should be comfortable winners lets hope the bad Tiges don't turn up

RETIRING Richmond veteran Nathan Foley has told his young teammates to "shop early and beat the rush" after a degenerative knee injury forced him to call time on his 154-game career.

Foley, who has not played this season after having arthroscopic surgery in May, told teammates of his decision to retire immediately in an emotional address on Thursday on Punt Road Oval.

:( such a shame his career was riddled with injuries. I remember back to the mid 2000's he was emerging as a star of the comp along with Coughlan. Both cut down through injury which is a shame. Wish him all the best

Sad to see Axel go without a farewell game, all the best to him

Nige

I saw this coming and called it, but I'm still terribly sad.  :(

I think some people forget how good Axel actually was at one point when he was stringing games together.

The positive to come from this is my boy Jason Castagna has been elevated from the rookie list! He's been killing it in the VFL with a bunch of solid performances all year.

Nige

Apparently Yarran met senior officials from the club recently, he looks to be one of our main targets.

And it seems we'll get beaten in the race for Treloar.  :(
