Cannot split these guys.
A lot seem to have jumped off Buddy for the simple fact that we haven't seen much of him this pre season.
Have always warned against judging premiums on pre season form but Jimmy, Dusty and Gray have looked amazing.

Have had Buddy and Dusty locked in with Swan most of the pre season for the reasons being
Buddy- massive back half of last year when he clicked with a new team, plays his favourite whipping boys round 1.
Dusty- moving into the midfield, looks set to explode.
Swan- too cheap to ignore

I see those 3 all increasing in value early whereas i didn't see that from Gray because he opens the season with a nightmare first 5 rounds and Jimmy I see as a Lids/BJ type who are safe but unlikely to fluctuate in price.

Should I be taking strategies like this into account or just getting who I like and forgetting about what they cost or will cost?

Give us your thoughts!

Dusty and Gray for me , some people worry about tough draws and players losing value myself just pick players that I want in my team all year and are proven consistent big scorers , by the way the other 2 are no slouches either but you cant have them all  :P

I was also running with Franklin, Martin, Swan. I took Buddy out for Bartel simply after his KO. Sometimes concussion can still sseem to linger with the player for 2-3, maybe 4 weeks. And I want a 100% right starting squad. That was my reasoning. I personally still think Gray will drop 50-70K early. But they are very solid choices and I always think go with your gut.

I initially had Dusty, Buddy & Swan as well. I then decided that I wanted Gray so brought him in for Buddy as Dusty is a lock for me.

Now trying to get Bartel in and also wishing I could get Buddy back as well ::) :-\

Sounds like me! I had a team of GAJ Pendles Jelwood Priddis Gray Martin in the mids and Bartel Buddy Swan in the forwards, the back line is fairly weak but if the mid rookies arent looking good I might go back to it

Dusty and Buddy. Dusty because he'll take it to the next level this year and Buddy because he very well could score 200 against the Bombers Replacements in RD1

Definately Buddy and Dusty.  Toying with the idea of Goddard. Looked good last week leading by example in the depleted side.
Maybe i'm wrong but Swan, even though he's cheap, seems to have lost that "killer instinct".  Surely, Gray will be a lot cheaper in a few weeks, so I'll wait.  Had Jimmy all last year but the way he was "managed" disappointed me, and I see that happening again.
For the time being I'll stick with Goddard, although, I allow myself one "outrageous" pick each year and still haven't decided...
what about rolling the dice on Bontempelli?

So you're going with 2 of these guys plus Swan at F3?

Like you it's doing my head in trying to separate these 4

I cant see Dusty or Gray leaving my side, but Bartel vs Buddy I have no clue. Bartel's NAB form was insane and I think I would start him over Buddy just because I think his a safer pick

I struggled with this than picked Martin Gray swan Bartel as couldn't decide

I dropped buddy just because if the concussion.

I will wait until teams are named, have had Buddy from the start, the concussion is a concern, but its two weeks until he plays so should be 100%

If the Swans play a VFL Bombers then I dont think I will be able to resist having him in the team.

Have been on Dusty all PS, but starting to lean towards Gray.

Jackross10

In order.

Gray
Martin
Swan
Buddy
Bartel

I have the first 4 in my team

I had Gray, Dusty and Swan, but got cold feet on Swan, so brought in Bartel. But as has been said Buddy round one sounds too good to turn down.  ???

Bennell will average more then Swan this year.
