Has been in my team for a whiel, but is $40-$50K more than basement rooks, and I am only basing my decision on the highlights of the Geelong games. Does anyone have a stronger opinion??

nrich102

Yeah, I'm picking him at this stage. Thinking of making up some of the money by picking someone like who is basement price.

cortez

From a Geelong supporter, I love the highlights yes but atm that is all you get, work be a massive scorer atleast not this season anyway

Tend to agree, if he was 117k I would be all over him like a rash but he's too awkwardly priced.

quinny88

Love the way the kid plays but he does have green vest written all over him.
Especially hard to start him when Geelong plays on the Monday

Mat0369

I was looking to start one of him or Lang but they both struggled to get really involved in NAB 3. I guess it is going to depend on who is available come round 1

Woppa15

Don't know if anyone saw Scott's post match conference NAB 3 but he said "Cockatoo doesn't need to be eased into his AFL career and is ready to play right in the middle of the action.....he's going to add to our midfield group from day 1"

Doesn't sound like much of a vest option. I think guys like Lang, Gregson, Hartman, McCarthy or Gore are more in line for the vest. Those fringe midfielder/half fwd/half back types.

And with no Varcoe the Cats will want an injection of pace. It s not like Sam Blease will make the 22....

He's well ahead of those guys, I suppose one can ride with him on the bench and cope with an occasional vest. I just wish he wasn't so damn expensive, having Cripps as well has made this exercise very difficult.

I agree also.  To watch him play, he does some very exciting stuff, he will be a very good player for the Cats and a great pick up.  But he doesn't seem to rack up large numbers of possessions, so his SC scoring may not be as good as some of the rookies, and he's slightly more expensive than the base price rookies.

Woppa15

I'm hoping he's more of an impact player like Cyril, 15 game determining possessions..... ;)

Should play a lot this year

Will put in some poor scores and inevitably get the vest from time to time, but in terms of sub 200k mid rookies he has to have close to the best JS of any of them

Has been in and out of my team. Will make the call on him at rd1

Not really concerned about him starting as the sub on the Monday, because the reality is I will field any rookies that avoid the vest before him that round anyway

I've just worked him into my starting line-up, all this hinges on Goodes and Lambert being named. Fingers crossed.

Ricochet

He'll win the rising star this year

in terms of fantasy scoring he'll put up some big scores to go with those small ones. Think Rioli in his early days

shaker

Lack of cash will probably prevent me from getting him
