fuuuuuck that

My best mate got the same injury in an amateurs game, but going by the reports his was a little worse than Kelly. He tried playing through, tried riding out the pain all night but he started blue balling and went to hospital that night.

To illustrate just how much pain he was in he says this:

"It hurt so much I had to show my mum my balls"

His wife had their first child a couple of weeks ago so the story has a happy ending of sorts.

He will missed from my DT team.  :-\

Thoughts are with the guy, he shouldn't have to go through this. Won't play for a month or so according to reports from Game Day today.  :-\

At the end of the day, it's not an incident he'll lose his fertility over, so it's not the worst. Just wow, would have been a tough couple of hours there for him  :-[

Yep the running trend of one player back in the next one out injured in XV teams ::)

I was listening to the last few minutes of the Crows game on weekend and the commentators were talking about how badly Sloane was hobbling after the match. They said it looked more serious than just a mild strain/tightness in calf and thought it would be minimum 2-3 week calf injury and maybe worse given how much he was struggling with it. Just sharing what I heard FWIW.

Really hope he gets up. Have him in all 3 comps and he should go big against a weakened Suns midfield.

I with ya, it hurts just thinking about it.
As do I - Copped a deliberate knee to the nether parts when playing League in my younger days so know exactly how he feels. Interesting they call it split testicle now mine was called a ruptured testicle.

Larkins said Adelaide's six-day turnaround this round meant it was likely to rest midfield star Rory Sloane from its clash with Gold Coast on Saturday.

Sloane was substituted out of the Crows' loss to Port Adelaide in the last quarter with a calf injury.

"If a player's got a tight calf or a little bit of bleeding â€" more of a corked calf â€" then teams are more likely not to risk playing him because they know he'll be right for the following week and I think that's a lesson learned from the past," Larkins said.

"A precautionary exclusion usually means you miss the one week rather than trying to play.
