The Gold Coast SUNS can confirm that Jaeger O'Meara dislocated his right kneecap during a NEAFL practice match against the Brisbane Lions at Coorparoo.

O'Meara will undergo scans later this afternoon to determine the severity of the injury.

Senior Coach Rodney Eade will provide an update following this afternoon's game at the MCG.

Probably the best outcome with only dislocation but will be out for a while.

Poor barbie! Also Mitch Brown done a knee. Hate seeing players go down, especially in the first round.

Apparently Doc Larkins has different news?

Dr Peter Larkins @doclarkins
Terrible news for Sun Jaegar O'Meara- ruptured patella tendon means season over - major surgery required

Jacqui Reed @JacquiAReed
Kristian Jaksch has two broken ribs out of the loss to Richmond. Blues will miss him for 2 games.

Mat0369

Sidebottom broke his thumb which is why he wasn't on for most of the last quarter

Mat0369

and Sidey expected to miss a few weeks with the break. He had a kick to the thumb in the game and Bucks said they will see if he needs a pin

Terrible way to start season.   Feel for both but must be difficult for JOM to accept
