HELLO AND WELCOME TO A NEW SEASON OF CAPTAINCY!

For those of you unfamiliar with my work:
Like a certain pirate human from elsewhere (*cough*Calvin*cough), I take aim at a captaincy prediction for the upcoming round, looking at some options in order to help you decide which option to put that lovely C button next to
I will put up a generic thread on Tues/Weds (typically) and then watch as it gets decimated by tribunal/injury (haha) and also take a requests function - which I look at ANYONE that you want (don't go crazy please)

As always, my advice is precisely that, it is purely educated guesswork on my part (looking at previous efforts, team scores, etc)
I take no responsibility for your misfortunes

And NEW, until round 4 (and we get a more accurate last-3) I will look at previous rounds (so last 3 rdXs) for an indication on performance
Note: If round 1 is NOT available, I will look at their first competitive game in that season

Rockliff
Last 3: 154, 165, 180 (average 166)
Last 3 vs Collingwood: 165, 73, 123 (average 120)
Last 3 at Gabba: 154, 180, 190 (average 175)
Mids vs Collingwood (last season): 13/22 made the ton - 5 scores over 145, but 4 under 100
Last 3 rd1s: 96, 114, 130 (average 113)
Prediction: Reasonable in rd1, and how much do you read into his "recent" form? Collingwood did start to leak heavily post-Macaffer's injury, so this could be a good sign. Erring on the side of caution - 125

Beams
Last 3: 46*, 125, 136 (average 102)
Last 3 vs Collingwood: NEVER PLAYED
Last 3 at Gabba: 122, 31, 46 (average 66)
Mids vs Collingwood (last season): 13/22 made the ton - 5 scores over 145, but 4 under 100
Last 3 rd1s: 122, 80, 74 (average 92)
Prediction: Those position stats are made for the top scorer, and will that be Beams with a certain Rockliff also in the team?? Doesn't like the Gabba, but does reasonably in rd1, but Collingwood didn't give up that many tons last season either - 105

Ablett
Last 3: 67*, 157, 137 (average 120)
Last 3 vs Dees: 119, 64, 134 (average 106)
Last 3 at MCG: 119, 139, 134 (average 131)
Mids vs Dees:
Last 3 in rd1: 141, 135, 136 (average 137)
Prediction: Evil laugh.... the numbers are good, but how much do you take into his lack of preseason?? There's the million dollar (or maybe 575k) question - 115

Pendlebury
Last 3: 89, 11, 107 (average 102)
Last 3 vs Brisbane: 95, 119, 94 (average 103)
Last 3 at Gabba: 95, 119, 119 (average 111)
Mids vs Brisbane:
Last 3 in rd1: 122, 124, 132 (average 126)
Prediction: LOVES getting underway and playing for points. In good form at the Gabba, and does reasonably against Brisbane. BUT they did tighten up toward the end of last season - 110

Buddy
Last 3: 109, 157, 77 (average 114)
Last 3 vs Essendon: 115, 122, 130 (average 122)
Last 3 at ANZ: 106, 73, 51 (average 77)
FWDs vs Essendon:
Last 3 in rd1: 52, 73, 130 (average 85)
Prediction: He might love playing the Bombers, but he'll have to defy ground-form and round-form to do it. I'm not entirely sure about that one - 90

LIST
Rockliff - 125
Ablett - 115 (if fully fit)
Pendlebury - 110
Beams - 105
Franklin - 90

Also keep in mind that 96 against Hawks round 1 last year, he was tagging.

small but of trivia for you:
name the only mdifielder to top score for his side vs Hawthorn in 2014 and not break the ton?
answer: Mr Record-averager Tom Rockliff
