Want Ablett in my team.  I've heard opinions that he should be first picked.  Do I take out Swan and Titch to include Ablett and rookie?

mate reckon you need both ablett and swan. Ablett is a supercoach must, and swan is as close to a lock as you can get for his price and being available as a forward.

A GAJ corrective trade if needed is a no-lose I reckon. If he spuds it, you trade him to someone 200k cheaper who's gunning it and use the 200 to upgrade someone else to a keeper. Then if GAJ turns it around you use your next upgrade to get him back in on the cheap. Two new premos for four trades, which would be par for the course anyways...

Sorry but to me this is non-sensical

This player who is 200k cheaper than Gaz (so low 500k's), is he going to be a Top 10 mid year end? Doubt It

And I'm not sure what rookie you're upgrading to a premium with 200k that early in the season (around Rd 3 im guessing)

So 4 trades, and I'm not sure where you're bringing in another bonafide premo other than bringing Gaz back, so no new premos...

I think if you start with Gaz, and you know you're going to finish with Gaz, there's no point trading out Gaz.

No one said it had to be mids. You can find premo fwds or def in low 500s or even mid 400s. Those who missed Swallow at the start of last year can attest... You're only a couple of price rises in a high priced rookie away to find another upgrade target, so the strategy can definitely work just fine

Then when you try and bring Gaz back in, you realise it's a whole lot harder than bringing in that low 500 or 400s forward, and ends up taking a month and 4 trades to complete. Meanwhile, the bandwagon you jumped on just threw in a 60 and will be back to starting price in a fortnight.  :P

(But yeah I am still considering not starting him myself, especially if Belly isn't playing round 1 and I need a second premium ruck. I'm crazy, right?)

So many locks, fitting both in means cutting someone else.  Is Dusty a must have, is Gray a must have.  Really tough to fit everyone in.

Imagine how a top 50 supercoacher would feel when gaj gets subbed in the first quarter for 10 and someone captains pendles for 140

Nice head start

That is a very good point eaglesman.  It could easily happen.

I bet Scully can run 3km one minute quicker than GAJ, lock him in? Gary is the new King Carey: can't lift his arm above shoulder height.

This is quite concerning 8 months after the initial injury.

Do we start flirting with the idea of not starting with the great man?

The Suns do not know what their Round 1 side looks like with the return date for Ablett and O‘Meara still to be decided.

The Suns wanted Ablett to play a half against the Lions and believed he had completed all the necessary rehabilitation work on his injured shoulder and was ready to go.

But the captain yesterday expressed his doubts to the coaching staff about the shoulder and will not play.
