I wouldn't get too carried away

his JS is shakey.
  - missing from NAB4 was Crameri, Hrovat & Hunter (who was BOG in VFL), these 3 may/will not play rd 1 but will be back in pretty quickly
  - Smith is also not too far off and Biggs will come into calculations
- Stevens, Prudden and Darley will also be pushing for spots.

I'm still not sure if he even makes the final rd 1 team  - our last 3 spots are between Honeychurch, Johannisen, Daniel, Goodes, A Cordy and that's assuming Hrovat is unavailable

At the end of the day Goodes is top class VFL player and an average AFL player and we have a lot of kids already at his level with much more upside.

seems to me like a very risky proposition for D6

Cheers for that mate. Nothing like an educated opinion from a fan of a players club to bring us back down to earth.

Would like to hear what Meow thinks about that

Goodes has an exactly 1.7% chance of playing more than 3 senior games this season. He wasn't injured, it just made no sense to play him instead of JJ/Darley and now Hunter and Biggs.

I disagree MM

someone will need to go onto the LTI list first but, he is a mature body and played pure midfield in the VFL last year.

We have just lost Griff, Coons (and missy) - two(three) hardened afl bodies and will need to replace them with young guys
if the likes of Boyd, Wallis, Stevens go down Goodsey is a good chance of coming in to play midfield

my sources tell me he has slimmed down and has been one of the better performers at training, and he is training with the mids not the defenders

instead of Goodes though - IMO, L Jong is a big chance to get game time was upgraded off the rookie list this year- might just go bang!!
What if I told you that Zac Dawson was tearing the house down and was training with the midfield group?

take or leave it - just giving my opinion of why he might be a good chance to get games.

From a thread back in January.

Dogg and MM had reverse opinions haha.

I might be wrong - its just my opinion

but I have 20-21 players ahead of him and another 8 or so players fighting for the last couple of spots along with him

to my mind that makes his JS shakey

That's hilarious, have made a contingency plan in any case.

haha - good pick up

I said he would get games which he will

but I stand by what I said there - Jong is a better option (although MID not DEF)

for what its worth I don't have either in my team

Appreciate the candid assessment, job security is far from confirmed and if he gets dropped it could spell disaster given there's no obvious sideways trade. Will carefully monitor from here.

PICCOLLO

Will score well if he plays. A big if though.
Would Crameri suspended for 3-4 weeks make him worth picking up?

If I pick him I'll make sure I have some cash for an upgrade, won't take much to grab McMillan.

cortez

Downgraded Hurn to him atm and it gave me enough cash to upgrade 3 players worth 120k to Cripps, Newton and Salem and also have just under 40k in the bank if he needs upgrading. Pretty good choice in my opinion and if he pays off its icing on the cake.

Woppa15

I think as a mature player on a young list he will play most games. The doggies have lost a lot of leadership and maturity over the last few years and need some stability on the field which Goodes can bring.

Good to hear, at his price the upside is huge, a repeat of 2013 and he becomes a keeper.

cortez

Doesn't have to go 90 though to be a good pick up, an average of 75-80 would be great. And we all know he is capable of that.  and if he gets games which I think he will (why else would the doggies put a bloke in their early 30's on the rookie list) he will be a great pick up!
