Jeremy McGovern has been ruled out of this Sunday’s clash with Fremantle after re-injuring his hamstring during the Hawks game last weekend.

The defender had been returning from two weeks on the sidelines, having initially injured his hamstring in round 16 against Collingwood, but left the field late in the game on Saturday with tightness in the same area.

Football manager Craig Vozzo said McGovern will miss at least two weeks.

"It was a bit disappointing that he didn't get through the game with the hamstring on the weekend,” Vozzo told Eagle Eye TV.

“The scan shows that it's just the same type of injury, nothing worse than that, which means he's probably going to be out for at least two weeks through the rehab phase.

“He's keen to fast-track things, but we'll just take it one week at a time.”

Vozzo said he was confident that Callum Sinclair would be available to take his place in the team against the Dockers after withdrawing from the Hawthorn clash with concerns over his knee.

“Callum was just not quite right,” Vozzo said.

“We needed another couple of days last week to get him right for the game.

‘He's tracking well this week. He's got full flexion in the knee joint now and hopefully he'll get through training later in the week and be available.”

In some positive news for season 2016, Vozzo reported that both Eric Mackenzie and Mitch Brown were progressing well after undergoing knee reconstructions early in the season.

Mackenzie and Brown both ruptured their ACL joints before round one was complete, but they are responding well to their rehabilitation programs and are now running.

“Eric and Browny, it's almost like a package deal there,” Vozzo said.

“They're doing a lot of things together.

“Browny's slightly less advanced than Ezy, just through the nature of time in terms of the rehab program, but they're tracking really, really well.

“They’re back on the oval and running now and looking better and better as the weeks go by.

“So nothing to suggest that we're not going to have them somewhere near full training by later this year, early next year.”

As at August 11, 2015

Nic Nat will miss this weekend as well.

Lamb might make his way back into the side?  Barass too maybe.

How this team keeps performing at such a high level with so many injuries to key players is beyond me.
Think this week is going to be a huge ask though with the toll increasing and Lecras and Nicnat also missing

Barrass yeah you'd think he'd come back in for Jezza.
Lamb yeah maybe for Lecca
Who comes out for Sinclair? I'm sure we won't run with just Lycett or Sinclair on their own.

Would love to see Lamby back out there. Wrecks my SC loophole haha but he's got star written all over him. Just hope all the boys are fighting fit for finals, not too fussed about results now I'm expecting a 3rd place finish.

True, but Freo are in a similar boat with their defenders, Johnson, Dawson and McPharlin possibly all out... will definitely be a chess match of a game.  If WC's forwards are on then I can't see Freo stopping us, just need the midfield to step up over the bigger bodied Freo mids to get the ball into our forward line.  If Lamb steps in for Lecca that is going to be a tough tall fwd line to stop.

Not sure who would go out for Sinclair...will def need both ruckmen to battle Sandi and Griff.  Might depend on the conditions too.

Johnson meant to be back this week I thought, good if he is not tho

Slipping to 3rd seemed like a kick in the teeth but it may actually be better for Westcoast.
If you play Hawthorn in the first week in Melbourne and most likely lose you will then get a home semi in Perth and then likely play freo in a prelim in Perth so it's really best case scenario if you miss out on that first home final.

No way, I'd much rather play Hawks again at home, we were just short of winning that game last week, may as well tackle the big boys first up!  Very good chance of us winning the next 4 games and that draw could be our savior!

Just had a look at the ladder predictor going with favourites Hawks finish 2, but I can see them dropping 1 (hoping they drop 1) against Geelong, maybe even Port if they start resting players.

Yeah I've confused myself. I'm pretty sure if you lose the qualifying final you will stay on freos side of the draw weather you're 2nd or 3rd. Then obviously if you win you get the prelim at subi. Either way I think you guys will make it to at least a prelim at home and from there anything can happen

Ziplock

If you lose the qualifying final you move to the other side of the bracket if you win the next final- so you won't play the team you played in first week again until the GF.

RaisyDaisy

Yep, WCE and HAW are going to finish 2nd and 3rd, it's just a matter of who gets the home ground first final

I think Hawthorn will unfortunately, but then as said above we would get a semi at home and then Freo in a prelim which would be epic

We are still missing players now which will make it hard on Sunday, but all I am hoping is that we get everyone fit and back for the finals.
