Did this only come out today??

Wow big news. This will affect the dockers as they need the No 1 shut down player

They're stating the banned substance contained in a pain killer, not prescribed by a team doctor.

flowerkk, that'd be rough. That being said, after Saad and essendon, surely you'd be really flowering careful about everything you'd be putting into your body. You'd also be damn dirty if the essendon players only get 2 weeks.

Nige

Has apparently tested positive to a banned substance.  :-X

Considering Saad got done, Crowley must be in strife?

valkorum

If he gets found guilty for this, surely his career is over as it would be a 2 year ban.

All over a pain killer :(

RaisyDaisy

Hard to tell, but I get the impression that whatever he took and got caught for, he knew he took it

When Saad got done he came out straight away stating that he had no idea what he had taken, how it happened etc

Sounds like Crowley is aware and is not trying to deny anything

Again, this is just my read on the situation based on reading that

Hopefully it gets resolved quickly and everyone can move on

The only thing that might help Crowley is the talk of the AFL no longer wanting to be associated with WADA/ASADA after the Essendon case.

ASADA can only advise the AFL on a suitable suspension and then it is up to the AFL tribunal to make a decision. The AFL can make a decision on the length and dating the suspension back to September that is already 6 months before the season starts.

Considering everything else going on you just have to shake your head at the stupidity

Yes just saw on news channel a pain killer that was not administered by the club round 17 last year

SydneyRox

Yeah the HS has it now that def was a pain killer not from a club doctor

WHAT WE KNOW

* Fremantle’s Ryan Crowley tested positive to a banned substance under the AFL Anti-Doping code on the day of the Dockers’ match against GWS on July 13 last year

* He will face the AFL anti-doping tribunal in “a matter of weeks”

* The Dockers say the banned substance was contained in a painkiller

* The painkiller was not issued by a club doctor

* Crowley has been provisionally suspended since receiving a show-cause notice September

SydneyRox

If that is the case you have to ask why be so stupid?
