Is it even worth spending an extra 90k for these guys compared to other rookies? I think Heeney, Freeman, Anderson, Boekhorst and Vandenberg can easily hold down my 3 rookie places in mid

Apart from Vandenberg the others are far from locks to make their respective Rd.1 teams.

I'm hoping I don't need any of them and enough cheap rookies start, but I think NVB and Newton are probably the best at this stage, but who knows, the others might put up big numbers this week and change our minds again

Just pick any of them for now as a placeholder for your team, allocating the cash to that position, and then you just easily change to the best looking one prior to rd1

I wouldn't quite see Vandenberg as certain to make melbourne's round 1 team, as pretty much M.Jones, Vandenberg, Newton, Michie, Riley, McKenzie and Toumpas are all fighting for about 2 spots.

I went for Newton, I'm very confident he is in melbourne's round 1 team.

I have both Newton and NVB so its hard.

NVB i know is lock 22 so voted him but if Newton is named round 1 and looks to be in the 22 than he is probably the best rookie out there.

Cheers guys, looks like it's tight between NVB + Newton.

If Newton gets named round 1 will probably lock him in.
I don't know if I will spend the extra cash for a 2nd player in this price bracket as I don't see the scoring potential to be significantly higher than other bottom priced rooks... provided they are getting games!
