Here's something:

He's priced to average 10 points more than van Berlo (50 v 40). I personally see him going about 10ppg more (70-80 v 60-70). So really, he represents the same value as very popular midfield pick. Others may disagree, but even so, that would only make him slightly less value. All defenders represent less value than their midfield counterparts anyway. Both are being considered for the same reasons - JS, if no-one cheaper pops up. By comparison, he certainly looks like a solid enough pick and thus makes my team. His bye helps heaps, too.
