Probably Spangher and Duryea are the only two not locked in and one of their spots will probably go to Frawley.

Yup, Spangher becomes Frawley and Duryea looked really good the other night and should play that small defender role.

Duryea was also named the sub in the GF which means that the available spot in that team is in green. You now have Anderson, Hartung, O'Rourke, Whitecross, Simpkin and Woodward all on the fringe and looking at the vest when they do break in to the side. So unless the Hakws get a couple of injuries I can't see guys like Whitecross or Anderson breaking into the side for round 1.

I'd probably have Jong if he was a 50k cheaper as eaglesman said.

im still getting him, with libba down i can see him stepping up.

So it seems NVB, Biggs and Newton are the most popular choices.
Didn't biggs injure himself??
Will NVBs new role get him over 80??

Biggs just had bruising or something, so should be fine, and is expected by most to be best 22
Newton looked very good in the first half vs Freo
I don't think NVB can push 80, more 65-75 IMO, but his JS is what most people want

Cheers RD. Still tryna find a way to get Lin.
I i think he and bonts could do a macrae, not to 100+ scale.
But  i see Lin going 85ish.

Ricochet

Newton and NVB are a fair jump ahead of the rest imo. Then I'd look at de Goey, Brayshaw and Cripps before the rest.
Jong is too pricey imo and Biggs will struggle to be there round 1

I think you are on the money, playing from a wing will mean fewer hard ball gets and less clearances. The fact of the matter is NVB has only had 2 seasons over 80 in his career, it's hard to see him suddenly returning to career best form. He's a solid pick and I have had him in and out of my side but I don't necessarily see him as essential. The other factor to consider is he may be managed in an effort to accomodate the new breed of onballers pushing for selection, Matt Crouch, Riley Knight & Mitchell Grigg are sure to see plenty of game time this year.

i know its a slight over reaction but the fact there's reports saying Gazza hasnt really lifted his arm over his head and favoring his uninjured shoulder is a bit of a worry. now they're saying that he wont even play in the last NAB game and might not be ready rnd 1. PANIC?? no. keep an eye on the situation. yes.

same goes with pendles, just because they are supercoach gods doesnt make them free from question.

No love for Jed Anderson @ $141,400?
