Woohoo nearly there!

Glad they put in those four 2012 boys, it's make or break for some of them this season. Who gives a flower about the others anonymity.

So where's Ambrose, Fantasia, Laverde, Z.merret, Edwards? they need game time yeah? I assume they're resting the vets like Gwildt, Cooney, and Goddard.

They are doing "Match Simulation" with their "full-strength" side against Williamstown tomorrow night at training.

I'm Guessing that's where Ambrose, Fantasia, Laverde etc will be.

HAve to agree with the AFL here. If they are playing then they must play in the 1s

I also agree, but at the same time it was only a training drill remember? I think the whole thing was a bit stupid, like what constitutes as a game then?

umpires :P

Yeah I gotta say, the only way the AFL could have banned the blokes from playing was if they thought it was a game, and not a "training drill", so I feel it should have been let them sit aside or can it all together. Oh well.

I think the reason why the AFL allowed it was on the technicality- they don't really want to slam the bombers and they want to keep them as competitive as possible, so let the 2012 players get some pre season time. However, they don't want their generosity in this case to be abused, which is what essendon/ the non-2012 players were essentially trying to do.

Finally a smart decision from the Bombers getting Goddard and Co. to play in there next NAB game

Yeah, also smart that they've ignored the whole "everyone from 2012 can't play" thing too. Who cares, in no way is it damaging to anyone's reputations. I think we can all agree the players are the victims.

Drak

Mitch Brown is definitely a victim... hahaha. Geelong are kaput for letting him go.

I do agree it was the right move, just surprised they could do it. But I guess the AFL can do what they want, and the Bomber's don't exactly have any bargaining power atm anyway haha.

Also agree with this. Plus, in 2 weeks time, they'll either have their names cleared or proven guilty, so whilst protecting their anonymity in the short term sounded like a decent thing to do, it was really only a trivial thing, whereas some guys are seriously playing for their own careers this year.

I was surprised by Jackson Merrett, as I rate him as a potential break out. Showed great signs early last year. But when you don't know if you are in the best 22 and with new recruits coming in, I don't blame him.

But I completely understand Kav wanting anything he can get. And Im sorry to say, but he still looks out of his depth, even in the NAB. Not completely out of his depth, but compared to Gleesons lightning decision making and 360Ëš Pendlebury awareness he is on the fringes at best still. I really hope he proves me wrong, because I like everyone to succeed. But he needs to find another level beyond just having the best fitness. But I suppose you can't do it all at once. And he did have a huge pre season to get his fitness to the top of our list. So credit to him.

I think Dalgliesh is a ripper. 6 years Baguleys junior but similar roles. Maybe lacks Baguleys tenacity. But I don't see him as playing for his career.

I really only think Kav is playing for his career. Purely based on the little to no interest when he asked to be put on the trade table. It may have been sobering for him, hence his dedication this pre season. Sincerely hope he finds another level.

Obi-rien kanobi hasn't been all that crash hot when he isn't playing as a tagging midfielder. With his bigger body and fitness levels, I really expected him to win more of his own ball.

And flower I love Gleeson moving through traffic, it makes me hard. Dalgliesleshlysh probably too different of a body type to be considered a full back stopper, think he is closer to an Enright 2.0. Hope hams and browne get there bodies right to get a game.

I hope zaka blew off his cobwebs this week, because we need him firing on all cylinders come rnd 1 if we are missing 75% of our team.

Thats who I was trying to think of.... Obi-Rien

Yeah he needs to take the next step too. But tbh, Kav was a high draft selection. More pressure.

Obrien can still be groomed in to a Hocking replacement eventually. I foresee more development time allowed.
