Hey Lads. Tossing up between Goddard and Franklin as D1 with Martin and Swan then Salem. Franklin provides a good POD option and tippet has had a full preseason. Goddard is mr consistent and rarely misses a game but will be a highly selected option this year. Would love your thoughts.

Goddard, because as you say he's Mr. consistent so price shouldn't fluctuate too much. Franklin is boom and bust, he will be cheaper to pick up at some point, hopefully early (or whatever your upgrade strategy is...)

My only reservation with Goddard is how he will fare playing alongside a ragtag team of VFL players. Without a solid core of inside mids I can see his output being reduced.

I've thought this too, but on the flip side, he should play more midfield minutes than ever, and his team mates will look to give it to him at every chance with him being the best user of the ball by far if he is playing with bit part players and could score well even if they get pumped (think GAJ year 1 at GC to a lesser extent)

Cannot pick Essendon senior players until the outcome of ASADA is known. If they get off than Goddard is a lock. If not I'm going nowhere near Goddard - will be clearly the number one player targeted.

Have had Goddard in my team since day 1 and thought he would have played this weekend seeing he was not at the club when all this rubbish went down , seriously thinking about giving him the flick unless this ASADA stuff is finished before the start of the season

If bans are handed out, I'm not to sure clubs will worry too much about tagging after halftime, or much at all. They'll destroy the bombers replacement team. I'll admit I am still concerned about Goddard but he is elite. The concern for me is whether Essendon can control games and hold possession for as long as normal (if they field the replacements).

Franklin a POD?  :o seen him in just about every team I've looked at.
I feel very uneasy without him in my side. Garunteed to put in some shockers to get him cheaper but I don't want to miss the highs

If it is over before the season starts and the players miss the first 2 games as it has been put around think I would get Goddard even with the risk of lower scores but if not resolved it could drag on for another month or even more , don't think I would be willing to get him under those circumstances

Buddy should gel  even better this season, will still have more ups and downs than bj but when he goes big it can be the diff between a win or loss if u don't have him and your opponent does
