I know it's late, but you could draw a parallel between this season's patriots and the 89/90 niners.

In the Super Bowl the niners ran into the Broncos, who averaged 14 points conceded per game, with a high of 28 - so a better defence than the current broncos.

Montana put up 55 on them - in an age where rules were much less lenient on the passing game than now.

Did they have no o line or RB also?

They had a receiver using banned sticky substances on his gloves to help him catch. That might have helped.

After watching " Four Falls of Buffalo" i can't help but feel for those players and fans :o

Cookie Monster

Carolina to win 42-28

They will dominate early and be 28-14 up at the half, Denver will bring it back, maybe tie it and then Cam Newton will runaway with the win.

Jukes

Denver 17-13 tbh

Either Carolina win in a boring blowout with Cam being a flowerwit all game, or Denver's awesome D pulls off yet another flukey win for the Broncos. Manning to get all the attention and credit for the win despite his 15 for 31, 139 yards, two picks and a fumble performance.

Y'know I tell ya what Jim, when you talk about Peyton Manning, you're talking about a guy who has delivered some of the best ever Super Bowl hand-offs to CJ Anderson today.

Jay, isn't this what you'd call "tall poppy syndrome"? ;)

There's a difference between facts and hatred/bias ;) Peyton ranked 28th in QBR, 36th by DVOA and 34th in passer rating. It isn't reasonable to suggest that he'll perform well in this game. And if he does, good on him, he's a legend of the sport - but the defense (and McManus too) needs to get bulk credit for even getting them to the big dance.
