Didnt you pick the same Super Bowl last year? How'd that work out? :P Btw the Ravens lost Ngata and Torrey Smith, plus Flacco doesn't turn into a top 10 QB until the playoffs start..

I picked two teams not in the top three favourites to make it (Pats, Hawks, Broncos?), one of them should have made it if not for gross incompetence and bad luck beyond belief and the other was cheated out of it.

Four words: Maxx Mother flowering Williams. This guy will automatically become an elite tight end - Kelce, Gronk, Graham, Olsen, Witten, Williams. Add to that Pitta's return and Perriman's drafting, still have a mean defence, very good OL (Yanda <3), and Flacco is a beast - career highs in yards and tds, low amount of ints, and didn't lose a fumble.

If, a) you thought the Colts were a better team than the Pats last season, and b) that the ball "deflation" impacted the result of the AFC championship game, then you're nuts.

We killed them even with the perfectly inflated balls after half time. It wasn't like a one score game bro, it was a demolition. ???

I reckon the seeds will be like this

Colts (will win their division by default)
Bengals
Chargers
Bills
Chiefs
Pats

Last: Jets, Jags, Raiders, Browns

Reason I have Pats at 6 is lack of CB's and no QB for the first 4 games. Broncos I see dropping out and the Chargers winning the division. Chiefs and Broncos will come down to head to head. Bengals I think switch it on this year and the final wild card spot comes down to the Steelers/Pats

Hawks
Pack
Falcons
Least worst NFC East team
Cards
Rams

Last: Bears, 9'ers, Bucs, could be any of the 4 but I will say Skins for now

Lions are the other in contention for the wild card spot.

Jay

Nice one with the Rams there, Mat. Really like that team, particularly the D.

It's unfortunate they're in such a tough division. Although it mightn't be as strong this year with the Forty-Whiners losing all their players.

Mat0369

Foles and Gulrey will be huge for that offense. They have been a streaky team but I think if you have the offensive line play well that team could cause some serious carnage. I am expecting Austin to break out for around 1200 yards with Foles throwing him the ball.

Jukes

NFC West would need to send three for the rams to make it imo, unless Palmer gets injured again, and I can't see that happening unless the Lions, Eagles, Panthers, and Vikings screw up.

Gurley is very average. Shouldn't have gone first round let alone top 10 and has nothing on Melv Gordon. I'd have taken Zach Zenner over him; production > m-m-muh upside

Mat0369

Two teams from the NFC East won't make it, no chance two teams from the South make it, Lions is the one that will be fighting for the 6 seed, Vikings won't get near it. I think the 3 teams fighting for a wildcard will be the Cards, Lions and Rams.

Gurley will start slow and be eased into it, Mason will tote the rock until he is 100% ready but Gurley will beast.

Vikings' defence rocks...best safety in the league (imo) in Harrison Smith, and a lot more helpful pieces - Matthews, Greenway, Barr, Munnerlyn, Mays, Waynes, Kendricks. If AP is back to his best (or even near-best) they'll be good. Patterson and Wallace are nice on the outside, and I reckon Adam Thielen could break out, and Kyle Rudolph is a gun. Fusco, Sullivan, Loadholt, and Kalil are solid linemen, as long as Bridgewater acknowledges his place as a game manager they'll be solid.

If they had a good, dynamic QB such as Carr though...they'd be playoff-bound for sure.

You shut me down when I said I liked Minnesota :'(

They have the best QB of last years draft. They'll be fine.

21/12 to 14/12 with an inferior supporting cast (vikings had the 14th best running game, raiders last - and Jennings and Patterson would've been far and away the best raiders receivers, plus a better defence) against a harder schedule (11 games against top-10 pass defenses against 4)

Carr > Bortles > Bridgewater but still >>> Memeiota and Winston

Jay

Btw it's insane that you don't see Thomas as the best safety in the league. He's so far from #2 it isn't funny.

Up there with Watt, Gronk, Rodgers, in terms of dominating their position.

Jukes

Last season,
Smith: 71 solo tackles, 3 sacks, 9 PDs, 5 picks, 1 81-yard TD
Thomas: 71 solo tackles, 0 sacks, 8 PDs, 1 pick, 0 TD
Weddle: 88 solo tackles, 1 sack, 10 PDs, 2 picks, 0 TD

If it's not Smith, it's Weddle. Enough said.

I think you're missing the point if you're using stats as the argument... If you're a great safety you're not meant to rack up stats

Alright then, let's go with PFF grades.

Smith: 17.9 (2nd overall) (first team all-pro)
Weddle: 18.9 (1st) (first team all-pro)
Thomas: 13.6 (5th) (second team all-pro)

QuoteIt’s happened so many times now that there’s no doubt Weddle is the best safety in the league. Still, with the play of Harrison Smith he may have a challenger in the coming years. His playmaking all over the field caught the eye.
