Also Shady's new deal with the Bills (he had said multiple times he was willing to restructure in the media)

QuoteHe wanted a running back in Murray's prototype bad enough that he paid Murray handsomely, a total that was nearly identical to McCoy's five-year, $40 million Bills deal with $26.05 million guaranteed.

So basically that is a lot more cash they could have had to upgrade other positions while now not having a giant hole at WR

Shady>>>>>>Murray

I know they will say they also got Alonso in the deal but the fact is it's still a bad deal

i respect the philly organization chip total control, they are going to know for sure if his 'genius' works, no ifs and buts, sink or swim

Quote“I felt this was a great opportunity for me to win a Super Bowl,” Murray said when asked why he chose to come to Philadelphia instead of staying with the Cowboys.

Murray explained that Philadelphia did not offer him the most money, but that when he looked around he saw what he identified as his best chance to win a ring.

Philly were about 3 or 4 pieces away from being contenders before the offseason started.

These were the needs as I ranked them

Secondary - Ideally they needed 2 starting corners and a safety. Williams was owed a lot of money and wasn't worth it, Fletcher was consistently roasted and Nate Allen was Nate Allen. They needed to fill in 3 voids next to Jenkins who was very solid his first season. I figured one corner through FA, 1 through the draft and you draft a safety while also signing a veteran option. So far that is looking like the plan while also getting Thurmond which to me doesn't make a lot of sense when you have Boykin and Carroll who was a really good dime corner.

O-Line - I wanted to keep Todd for one more year due to his versatility and go after a linemen in the draft to groom. Effectively over the next two seasons you have to replace 3 linemen in Peters, Mathis and Todd. Apparently they are shopping Mathis around which makes what was once a real strength of the team a huge weakness. When Mathis and Kelce were missing the line struggled bit time. We have no good replacements on the roster for either of these guys and you are getting rid of both.

ILB - With Ryans getting a year older and coming off an achilles, Matthews a free agent and Kendricks missing games each year we needed some depth. A mid round draft pick and a solid vet was the way to go. They picked up Alonso which is big, but he is also coming off his 2nd serious knee injury and there is no veteran depth.

OLB - Probably at the bottom of the list but with Smith struggling a vet with some decent coverage skills would have been a good signing. Especially after cutting Cole as you could have someone behind Graham with a different skill set

If Foles failed this season with a healthy O-Line then next year is where you go and get his replacement. There will be a lot of big name QB's that might be hitting free agency (including Bradford) or you go into the draft and try and target your guy

Pretty much where Philly were fine, D-Line and the offensive skills positions. We have gone and made some of our weaknesses weaker (O-line) while losing some of our strengths and forking out a lot of cash to replace them. Philly were Mark Sanchez not starting and a decent secondary away from being contenders last year. If you had Foles in those late season games instead of Sanchize they are either winning the division or making it in as a wildcard. You fix the secondary through FA and the draft with a healthy and productive Foles and they are a super dangerous team. At this point I can't see how our holes aren't bigger now then they were in Jan

RiOtChEsS

they obviously believe in him enough to give it a shot, its an awesome opportunity, im interested to see how it has gone by years end

Jukes

AFC East might not be a complete joke of a division next year as it has the last >9000 years

Razorcakes, jest and lelphins will probably still come out, but we'll see.

I just read Cromartie signed back with the Jets. That secondary was getting absolutely torched last season.

I also found it funny that Amendola had more receiving yards in the post-season then he had in the regular season with 214 yards

Just re-structured his deal too.. Hopefully the Pats actually do something with the cap space saved from not RE-SIGNING ANY OF OUR PLAYERS WHO JUST WON THE SUPERBOWL WITH US ::)

Is it him calling Chip racist again because he cut all our good black players and still has Riley Cooper on the roster?

only 200k guaranteed, if things go well he can earn up to 5.85m over 2 years, good deal for us either way

Jukes

It's amazing how somebody could make Skip look smart and well-informed so often

He's probably right, Dallas did run Demarco into the ground. And it wouldn't surprise me if they had this plan from the start of the season considering the amount of time I saw him left in the game during a blowout.

Sports are a business, and Dallas made a smart decision.

yeah i probably should have highlighted the 'disgusting for a human to be treated this way' it is a job he has been paid for and it is smart management on Dallas' behalf, that show has become 'tempo psycho babble' was miffed at myself for watching
