Hang on, best defense in the league? That'd be Denver mate.

Sure Carolina's is slightly superior against the run but this Denver pass defense is one of the best ever. Their points allowed numbers don't even look as good as they should because they had Manning throwing picks every single game, putting them in bad field positions - that's if it wasn't a pick six. But the defense itself allows barely anything.

Denver has had much tougher offensive opponents to go up against too, while Carolina's defense has been leaky in multiple games this season (22 points to Luke McCown, 23 points to the Bucs, 26 points in the rain to Andrew Luck on one leg, 29 to Green Bay, and 38 to the Saints). And they haven't even had to play any of the best 4 offenses in the league (NE, Cin, Pit, Ari) so it's hard to guage really where they are at. And I'd even argue that Norman might actually be the best player on the Carolina defense.

Don't see how Carolina's defense is better, let alone, "by far"...

I reckon the seahawks still have the best D in the land now. Started off very slow but cooking with gas now. Over the course of the season you easily have to give it to the broncos.

1st in overall defense
1st in pasing defense
3rd in rush defense

Panthers

tied 2nd overall
5th passing D
4th in rush D

Firstly, THAT WASN'T EVEN THE POINT OF THE POST

Second, I didn't say that the Panthers' D was the best by far - I said Kuechly was by far the best player on that D. Nobody else has as much impact on that D's performance as #59.

mmm definitely says "best player on the best defense in the league" :D

Panthers @ Giants
Broncos @ Steelers
Cards @ Eagles

Three legitimately great games on mate tonight! All should have major playoff implications.

Might skip the last one bc the Eagles aren't relevant and are boring to watch, but very keen for the first two. I think the Giants will hand Carolina their first loss - they're weirdly good in these kind of big games.

Whew, 14-0,

Interesting factoid

Result of Patriots/Giants Regular Season game when they went 16-0? 38-35
Today's result?: 38-35

Whew, 14-0,
Giants cost themselves early on. Odell dropped TD pass, their tight end dropped a first down pass and then DRC dropped what would have been a pick six, all within the first 6 minutes. And they punted from 40 yards out on 4th and 1, you don't deserve to win with decisions like that.

So I think it's fair to say that Osweiler is at least 100 times better than Peyton..
