Starting Gray in the mids is fine RD, provided the rookie forward will score more than a corresponding rookie mid that you miss out on.

Yep. And it's not often the corresponding FWD/DEF player is better than the midfielder they've replaced when you throw a DPP into the midfield.

Pending there price is the same... Because hes not going to be in the mids come years end he will be swung forward!

Oh, of course. It's just would you rather eg Heeney or Steele? Although this is probably the year where there might just be an extra FWD rookie than mid rookie. I'm still quite pessimistic about guys like Karny, Daniel, Krakouer getting a game let alone scoring too well.

Yeah really just depends on who can snag the game come round 1. The Heeney and Steele types are so borderline similar to the forwards you mentioned too! Just depends if more mids or fwds getting a game.

Moving Gray to M5 has allowed me to field what I think is the strongest side I've been able to field so far

14 keepers plus Bellchambers AND 2 200k mid rookies PLUS Salem too :)

I just made a team that has 15 keepers plus Newton cockatoo, Jack martin and salem ... 17k leftover ....
But I will say that one of those keepers I have called a keeper but the reality of it is most likely he will be a stepping stone for Gaz.

I didn't say 3 200k rookies ... Cockatoo and salem (saves 38k)

Shaw and Simpson/Gibson/burgoyne
Lumumba at d5 but I may downgrade Harry Taylor to ibbotson for extra cash but not sure where I would actually spend it (maybe keep it for the gaj upgrade)... I personally would rather start a few 600k guys(kennedy gray and I haven't got either of them yet) ahead of Selwood  and I have been that way for a while Now gaj situation has no impact on that ... I can't justify the price difference of ward over Griffen as he isn't going to average 14 points per game more than him and I won't be putting it past griffen to beat him and am actually in team Griffens corner
And as it stands we have the exact same forwards and rucks with the exception of belly and Martin and Martin will beat belly except does not give ruck cover

*edit* sorry didn't realise u had krakeour in forwards ... I have Lonie/Steele in the forwards ... Don't think krak will Be there early but if he is he will Come straight in for my team and I will cherish that extra 10k

Starting with R gray could be good as it gives you more room to choose the inform midfielders when trading instead of starting with 5 premo keepers and hoping they are all top 10 or top 8 mids. so by having gray in mids, you can swithc he to FWD later on and upgrade a midfielder of your choice.

Currently have lids, bennel, and swan as keepers for fwd line because of the amount of fwd rookies.

So what are your thoughts i think it is a smart option which will give you more room to choose the right premo for your team come upgrading time.
