I'm actually toying with the idea of starting Gray in the mids

Now I know that will get frowned upon, but hear me out

There are too many forwards that I want to start in my team!

Gray, Dusty and Swan are the 3 prems I want, and there a heaps of rookies, but I just cant fit them all in. Moving Gray to M5 allows me to fit everyone in that I want. It means I am essentially starting a 4 premo midfield as Gray will get moved to F1 eventually

Strongly considering it. I could raffle off M5 to about 3-5 premiums right now and cant decide, but I know I want Gray 100% so this is why I am thinking of doing it

It's not the worst move mate. Like you say it's essentially just a 4 premo mid, 3 premo forward setup which allows you to get in more of the rookie forwards into your starting team.

This is an interesting move Daisy. Certainly got me thinking.

Had the same plan in mind when Tom Mitchell was in my side. He was in my mids and was going to swing him forward eventually. WIll just need to see what rooks are named round 1 to see what i decide :)

I've done it for now

Gray at M5, but he essentially is F1 allowing me to squeeze in an extra forward rookie

In doing this I've also made sure I have 2 200k mid rookies sitting at M6&7, but essentially 5&6 when you take out Gray, so I think having 4 premos plus 2 200k's makes it work

Isn't this just the same as leaving Robbie at F1 and putting Jack Steele on the bench in the MIDS ?
Or Robbie at M4 and Jack Steele on the bench in the FWDs.
Or am I missing something ?

I like it, I'm sold on Gray myself but I just can't fit him in the forwards. Have him as my current M5 leaving Swan at F2 with 4 on field rookies. Obviously need all the FWD rookies to be named come Rd1 for me to justify the move but other than that.

The other thing I like about it is there is so much money to go around, especially into the DEF. By picking the right mid-pricers and premos I can run Geary at D6.

This is exactly what I have done but more for bye structure, it has let me go Bartel, buddy, Martin at f1 f2 f3 and Gray at m4 and danger at m5. Just makes my team more balanced

Already have Steele in the mids :)

Dusty, Swan, Bellchambers, Salem, Clark, Hogan (Lamb/Lonie, Krakouer) is what putting Gray in the mids has allowed me to do.

I also have 2 200k mids, so once I milk one of them I can swing Gray from M5 into the forwards so I'm essentially going with a 4 premo 2 200k 5 cheap rookie midfield and 3 premos up forward plus Bellchambers, but Gray is starting in the mids

Don't have to worry about Gray getting tagged in round 1 now...

Starting Gray in the mids is fine RD, provided the rookie forward will score more than a corresponding rookie mid that you miss out on.

Yep. And it's not often the corresponding FWD/DEF player is better than the midfielder they've replaced when you throw a DPP into the midfield.
