At the start of he year i had Geary in my team. When people rated my team in the other thread. They all said get rid of Geary. I think greater midfield time is definatly on the cards. He is 100k cheaper than Newnes. And i think could average between 70-85 this year. He has got to be worth it. Question is which player. Or do you have both. Whih i know some people do..

I've got both locked at the moment.  Geary is the riskier choice, but regardless he should make a bit of cash and then I'd look at dumping him unless he is consitently pumping out 90+ scores.

Yeah really need to look at it as Newnes vs Geary + 130k. Where will you use that extra cash?

Nige

I'd go Geary and try to use the extra cash elsewhere since Geary could easily average the same as Newnes for a cheaper price.

At the same time though Newnes couls be a top 6 defender which will cost you a trade...the way I see it it's not case of Newnes Vs Geary, its a case of Newnes and dropping another def to Geary.  I won't be starting with Hibberd due to Essendons tough start, and Saints have a decent start so I'll look at making money on Geary and picking up Hibbo when he's dropped slightly.

AF though, so keepers argument carries less weight

True, but every cent counts towards building that perfect team! ;)

Geary is a sketchy player, but capable of producing high scores I think Jvalles has the right idea.

Newnes could b a keeper, can't say the same for Geary

Geary is a perenial tease, starts off every year well then averages low 70s if that. Newnes is definitely my preference, will average 85+ and be a top 6 back.
