I currently have cheap RUC's in Leuy and Nic Nat and have used Ryder as a premo FWD and RUC cover. Have considered Ryder to Belly and spend the extra elswhere. Thoughts?

Ryder will most likely start slowly as he adjusts to his new surroundings at Port so he is probably a better upgrade target.

If going with ruck coverage in the forwards then Belly and cash could be the better option.

Will Ryder play round one? We dunno yet.

Lobbe will be the number 1 ruck and get a chop out from Ryder so logic would have it that Ryder will play a lot of time forward.

I cannot select him for the reason above.

Im planning on seeing how he goes and if he shows potential for 100 average then ill trade him in as ruck cover. Hopefully no ruck carnage before the byes

In a perfect world Ryder starts slow, drops a bit in price then picks up so it will be a cheap upgrade from Belly

Without seeing how he will be used and how his scoring will be affected hard to say but if I had to use the ruck cover strategy in the FWD line think I would pick Ryder over Belly purely because he is a proven scorer where Belly is not

If Ryder was a stand alone ruck at Port he would be a lock but I don't want to pay for a 100 ppg player who could realistically drop to 85-90

He could also realistically continue to score as he has through his career , I can Lobbe's scoring being affected more

I really hope his does as he will be a perfect solution to the ruck coverage problem. I'm happy to pay 540k for him once proven but I'm not prepared to take that risk at the start.

Agree my solution is not concern myself with ruck coverage not much different than last year

Either going Mummy and Nicnat or Mummy and Goldy.  If one of them goes down for a while I'll be tempted to grab Paddy as backup  and  then as final reserve. Just have a feeling that his price will dip at the start of the season before he starts killing it.    ;)

What's your thoughts on big Paddy Ryder avg.100?
now the pressure of ASADA and the Bombers has passed... At a much stronger club, could he increase the 100 average.

I was thinking the same thing mate however worried lack of ruck time will affect him.

Also he will prob get the No 1 defender when he is foward

Schulz would get the #1 defender

You no what f**k it.. I'm picking him! Surely will score 95+ most weeks... Very reliable and versatile!
if he plays fwd and isn't seeing the ball they'll simply put him in the Ruck to get a touch... Can kick goals!!
And a Pod...
