Hey coaches.

Finally down to a stage where I feel somewhat alright with selections. Now the time to pick it apart. Would love some feedback.

Def: Simpson, Smith, Shaw, Newnes, Whitecross, Goddard (Viojo-Rainbow, Maynard)

Mid: Ablett, Pendlebury, Greene, Crouch, van Burlo, Anderson, Boekhorst, Freeman (Vandenberg, Laverde, Lambert)

Ruc: Jacobs, Leuenberger (Read)

Fwd: Gray, Deledio, Goddard, Swan, Mitchell, Clark (Hogan, Krakouer)

Cash left: $8,900

Cheers in Advance.

DEF: Pretty nice, just have to see what rookies get names (if any) and if whitecross gets into the best 22 at the hawks.
MIDS: Improvement needed here, need to upgrade greene and crouch to premiums as in selwood, jpk, fyfe etc. While good you need the big name players. Everyone will be picking Anderson I think after the opening nab match. Just have to wait and see once all the big name hawks come back where he fits and could be potential vest but I liked his game. Pretty sure Vandenberg is a rookie listed player.
RUCKS: Jacobs did well last year but I think is too expensive to start and luey too risky with injury concern but could pay off. If you have a none playing reserve ruck then get the cheapest one (cox) no point an extra 10k sitting on the bench not playing either.
FWDS: Downgrade Mitchell to a rookie, still has to get back into the swans team and can use the extra cash to upgrade crouch and greene ...

Not a bad team 7.5/10

Gigantor

As Arbel said Titch to a rookie and upgrade Greene and Crouch
I would also downgrade one of Gray/Deledio/Goddard and upgrade one of your back rookies.
I have more confidence in 5 decent fwd rookies playing round one than 4 Def rookies (count whitex as a rookie)

I dropped Jacobs to Goldy after I had posted. Rookies are all on the watch until round one team names so they will no doubt be chopped and changed.

Have since dropped Mitchell to Salam which has freed up enough cash to swap Greene and Crouch to Fyfe and JPK. Going to wait for Selwood, Rocky and Sloane to fall in price (which SC Gold shows, unfortunately doesn't have break even values atm)  but pretty much had enough cash to get any 2 of all those.

Am also left with a handy $74,000 after those swaps!

Cheers for the tips.

Thanks. I could drop Gray to someone like Ziebell as a POD as then that leaves enough cash to upgrade WhiteX to Rampe?
Any other suggestions? Not sure who to upgrade WhiteX to unless I downgraded one of the premium forward to another rookie.

Hey Guys,
After many changes, my team now stands as this:

DEF: Shaw, Gibson, Hurn, Newnes, Lumumba, Goddard (Hamling, Saad)
MID: Pendlebury, Fyfe, Beams, JPK, Griffen, Newton, Cripps, Vandenberg (Freeman, Steele, Heeney)
RUC: Maric, NicNat (Read)
FWD: Martin, Swan, Salem, Clark, Hogan, Karnezis (Lamb, Lambert)

I am left with $354,900 in the bank (way to much I know!)
Any thoughts of what I could do?
- Upgrade FWD Rookie to Bellchambers for RUC coverage?
- Upgrade DEF rookie to Macmillan/Jaksch?

Cheers!

I would nearly upgrade goddard or hamling and run a 6 man premo defence or put another mid in.

Or try and get a 3rd fwd premo

Hey Guys,

Post NAB/Essendon/Gaz Update:

DEF: Shaw, Gibson, Newnes, Lumumba, Goodes, Saad (Oxley, McIntosh)
Stock standard

MID: Ablett, Fyfe, Beams, R.Gray, Parker, Cripps, Newton, Ellis-Yolmen (Heeney, Miller, Lambert)
Gray to swing FWD mid season (allows Bellchambers to not be F5 and take use of the FWD rookies). Think Parker will go to another level and at his price is a steal.

RUC: Naitanui, Lycett (Read)
Tempted to run with Luey as R2 and pocket the $$ given Bellchambers cover but don't think he can do enough, think Lycett offers much more value too when pairing with NicNat. Plan to upgrade Belly to #1 ruck mid-season and have Lycett as the FWD/RUC cover (benefits if NicNat is out for a game/two).

FWD: Bartel, Martin, Swan, Bellchambers, Salem, Clark (Hogan, Lamb)
Running with 4 premo FWDs (inc Gray) as they offer to much promise this year, happy with 4 rookies, pending team line-ups.

I effectively have 14 premo/keepers along with Bellchambers, $7,500 in the bank but it is what it is!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Not a fan of the NicNat / Lycett combo.
I get what you are trying to do but that strategy only works in a draft league.

In a draft league (and I have done this myself) I picked NicNat and Lycett as if NicNat ever misses a game.. I have his direct replacement in a plug and play opportunity.
In a salary cap league you have the option to pick anyone! and you should take advantage of that.

I think you go with a different ruck combo all together (be it Maric /Luey or Goldstein / Luey)

If you go Luey than you are right in keeping Bellchambers so you have that cover to move in between. But also would not be mad at you if you got rid of Bellchambers for a better player at the same price and lost having that cover.

Hey Guys, any idea where I could spend the last $259k in the bank.

DEF: Shaw, Gibson, Newnes, Lumumba, Goodes, Saad (Oxley, McIntosh)

MID: Ablett, Fyfe, Beams, R.Gray, Parker, Cripps, Newton, Ellis-Yolmen (Heeney, Miller, Vandenberg)

RUC: Naitanui, Bellchambers (Read)

FWD: Bartel, Martin, Swan, Salem, Clark, Lamb (Hogan, Karnezis)

The only way I can get a premo is to upgrade either Bellchambers or Goodes (in which I would prefer to keep both), otherwise it's a rookie to a mid-pricer and pocket $50k.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

I'd sit on he coin for a while.  It may come in very handy when up-trading a rookie - rather than 2 trades being used.

Your team looks solid to me - I think you'd just be spending it for the sake of spending it

Upgrade Parker to Selwood, Pendelbury, JPK
