I really like Mayes this year with Hanley out for god knows how long. Can really run and I expect a 80+ I think.

Smedts too. Should get a starting role along HB.

Think mids are pretty standard. Ive gone with the 4 prem 2 mid price and 2 rookies.

Rucks also standard

Forwards ive gone with Ziebell and Wingard. Wingard had the 2nd year blues and expect to pump it and Ziebell just looks like he will be a massive improver.

DEF: While I love Mayes, not sure how he'll go this year. Was played in a few different positions/roles last year, and it hurt his scoring. If he doesn't start well this season, I can see him being dropped for a few weeks. Seedsman injured his hip or something, which is why he didn't play against the Hawks. Don't know if he'll be right for round 1, so have a backup plan in mind there. I'd upgrade Mayes though to someone like Simpson or Shaw or Smith.

MIDS: Don't like having premiums in the midfield when they can be put in other positions, so would prefer to see Gray in the forward line. That way, you can have another mid (instead of a forward), as mids generally score better than forwards. Would put Pendles in the vacant spot if cash allows. I reckon Cotchin could go big this year, however he's definitely a risk, as he could end up in that scoring bracket where he's not good enough to keep up with the best, but not bad enough to trade. Don't think Rich will be as good of an option with Hanley injured. Should cop a lot more attention now. Maybe downgrade to Biggs.

RUCK: Looks good.

FWD: Going back to Gray, would replace Wingard with him. Wingard scored really well 2 years ago because he won a lot of games off his own boot basically. Didn't happen last year, and don't see it happening this year either. I like the Ziebell pick as a POD, but with all the other forward options this year, think it's an unnecessary risk. If you have the cash, upgrde him to a Goddard/Buddy/Lids etc, if not, downgrade to Mitchell or Bellchambers.

updated.

Took some of the advice on board. Mayes I'm still gna go with unless I see otherwise. I feel he could have a big year.

Still got 200k as well.

GoLions

Yeah that looks a lot better mate :)

DEF: Think smedts and mayes need to be changed, not enough scoring potential with them. With 200k in the kitty could upgrade to premium keepers. Keep an eye out if rookies get selected first round and swap smedts out for them
MIDS: These are pretty decent premiums, i'd take brayshaw out. Took expensive for a rookie that hasn't played. Could easily select a $120k rookie for same scoring potential so far more money to be made. Also I think Vandenberg is on rookie list so may not play.
RUCKS: Stock standard. Good selection.
FWDS: Zeibell could be good POD the rest are fine

this teams good, to make it great you need to lose Cotchin and Ziebell. Cotchin is a perennial let down, and isn't that hard to upgrade to a Beams/Ward/ jpk etc etc, which will make you much happier.
Now coming from a north supporter, Ziebell is another Cotchin and won't deliver. Honestly think you'd be better off with Petrie now he has Waite to take the double team away. But I think the best replacement for Ziebell in your squad would be Deledio.

Nice welldone 8/10

The other thing with Chad is he had knee surgery recently and hasn't been training properly all pre-season. He will be pushing to be fit by round 1

Team 2 looks like a really good starting point and you can play around with rookies through the NAB

Andrew3747

Thanks boyyyss.

Things look exactly the same.

hawkboy80

I really like it, but would be wary of white.x as i see him playing vfl for a mth at least which would leave u with a donut cos your 2 bench backs wont play 1st up either

Andrew3747

yeah, have 200k tho so can plug all the leaks ready for R1.

After NAB, this is my team

Still a few things that might need some cleaning up, but I'm loving this team atm.
