Are Rich and Van Berlo as big as locks as we thought? Because you'd really be hoping an 80-85 average from them which might be looking like a struggle at the moment!! And when there are 65-70 averages down the road 100k it's getting hard to justify their selections!

Mr.Craig

I can imagine a lot of doging and moaning during the season when they put in low scores but what's the alternative?

4 premiums/4 cheapos?
4 premiums/1 of them/3 cheapos?
5 premiums/3 cheapos?
Different midpricer/s?

If you want 5 premiums/3 cheapos you'll be looking at an extra 180k+ spend and then you have to worry about the js and scoring of that cheap guy anyway. In some ways picking Rich and NVB is a cop out, an "everyone else is doing it" move that allows you to concentrate on other positions.

I agree that mid 60's is probably around their ballpark. It's worth at least playing around with alternatives.

Think it might be better to go premos and rookies rather the NVB or Rich but that's just how I'm thinking I'm sure others will get them

pommyadam

I currently only have VB, cause I think Rich will still get the tag (shared with Hanley imo) - dat midfield drive

Mr.Craig

Today's performances didn't exactly fill me with confidence.

I'm going premos and rookies at the moment. Allows me to spend more in defense.

Mr.Craig

The question is - can you name five rookies (three of which you'll need to field each week) that will have decent scoring and js?

Most of them have some risk attached, but I feel they have less risk when considering there price in comparison to some of the cheaper defensive options available this year

As I see it we have two options

1. Downgrade him to someone we think will increase in price over the period he is out then burn a trade when we are happy, say rnd 3-5

2. Leave him alone totally until after his bye

I am leaning towards #1 as #2 will be the general option.

That sounded like you had a pretty solid midfield going there !
