Is anyone having second thoughts about Hogan?

He is priced at 130k with the best job security of anyone in that price range. 50 average is probably what to expect and if he averages 40 he still makes cash. Unless he is injured he is locked

True but I'm thinking if we stuff the forward line with the DPP players (Lambert, Steele & Krakouer) and then bring in guys like Miller & Heeney the prospect of extra $ could be on the cards.

He's the biggest lock mate, but just put him at F7/8

Anyone else thinking about bringing in Hertier in their side?.. Averaging a ridiculous 120 over the nab games. Anyone know whether he will keep playing that same position(s) that he has been playing in the past 3 games?

I think there's every chance he will be the most picked defender come rd1

I was very sceptical, but he's twisted my arm!

He has trained in that position all summer and has dominated in it for all 3 NAB games - he's in my squad, I just can't leave him out

But of those guys you listed, Krak and Lambert still need to get elevated and in Kraks case even if he does he probably still won't get a game. Heeney has to break into arguably the best midfield in the league and Steele has to compete with the plethora of mids/smalls at GWS which means he is a vest candidate as well. It gives you 15-30k in the initial price to bring in someone that has a chance of starting in green or might not even get games whereas Melbourne need and want to play Hogan every single week

This as well. My mate hates him and is a Dees fan, he went down to a training session and came away from it saying he looks the goods. Roos loves big bodied mids so the fact he has been training there shows that is why they recruited him. A defender that is going to play in the midfield more often then not is worth their weight in gold in SC

Harley Bennell justifying his F2 spot. He's a freakishly good footballer!

His disposal has been horrible tonight but yeah he is a freak. I brought him back into my side earlier this week and even with the horrid disposal he just has so much talent and is about ready to explode

Those two will actually help him since they are more likely to draw the tag away from him

He's usually gold with the ball in hand, too.

I have just been thinking if the Dons players do get suspended for the first couple of games, is it worth avoiding BJ early? He will have 0 support those first two games and will be the only Essendon player they put time into with Zaha which could result in a few poor scores.

Yep. Upgrade target

Ditto, ill trade him out to Buddy or Bennell if so

He reminds me of Ryan Houlihan that he looks so casual with the ball in hand and tries to take the difficult option rather then the easy one sometimes, but when he is on he is on

Also something else I thought I would bring up, both Saad and Lambert dominated in the VFL last year. When they were doing a top 5 VFL player countdown during finals last year I think they were 2 and 3 (Iles 1?)

Both guys are really talented and should be able to put performances at the lower levels which will demand they get a shot at some point. I think Lemmens has also been injured which has seen Saad attempt to make the spot his own so it will be interesting to see what they do and if they actually can elevate him since Broughton has one spot guaranteed.

Fair comments.

Prestia and Beams are making me want to pick them again but it's not possible and it's upsetting me.  :'(
