Thanks FactHunt,

Fyfe's an absolute Gun.  I think he's the best selection out of everybody, on price I would pick him over Ablett, Rocky, Pendles, and Selwood, but all 5 are gun players.

Lachie Neale, just average today, but has had a great pre season.  Are there any danger signs there.

Clancee did enough at his price I think.

NicNat still a worry, hopefully he should improve on that when the season starts.  Cant have 66 at his price, would upgrade to Jacobs prior to R1, but still unsure on NicNat.

Money Shot

Lamb letting me down :(
Think I'm going to look at Laverde for my F7 as if ASADA lays charges he could play a key role for his team!

Some guy who won 2 brownlows missed half the year plus preseason  last year lets not forget

Yup. He has another mate that has had calf issues as well.

Also when you look at the totals in terms of possessions and disposals, Carlton as a team ranked in the bottom of the league. This has a lot to do with game plan so the overall numbers are not going to be huge compared to the rest of the league. However when you look at percentages you get a better idea. 46% of Murphy's possessions are contested, he is not an outside player, he is a combo guy. Gibbs is at 43% and he improved his inside game last year. Just for comparison, Nate Jones runs at 41.8%, Rockliff at 41.5% and Pendles goes at 45.8%. Libba and Selwood are both at over 50% but the contested numbers are decent, they aren't just outside guys by any stretch of the imagination.

Outside run is what Carlton lack at the moment which is why they went out and drafted Boekhorst.

Carlton supporters say he might struggle to push anyone out though. He's still a risky pick

Who's saying that? Cripps will play, and unless he has a bad spell, he'll play all 22. He's way ahead of Bell as far as i am concerned, so there's a spot right there.

There is no way he is ahead of Bell and Bell will probably play more flank and rotate through the middle anyway.

I don't know who he replaces, but it's crazy to believe that there are 22 players in better touch then him

The thing is you can't play a team of 22 midfielders

Once you get past the core 6, guys have to be able to play multiple positions to get a game. Look at the good teams and how they structure up, they have a core group of mids with a mix of inside and outside guys and then they have guys that can play through multiple positions.

Yeah I get that, but would still be surprised if he doesn't line up rd1

Cripps will start round 1. Was better than 20 of there 22 players on the field.... He will be a midfield rotation no doubt. These days you can play mids off half forward and half back anyway. Carlton won't finish top 12 and he will be able to get games in an average side at best...

Mat0369

The thing is if he gets a game and no vest round 1 it will be due to Walker being out or the sub. There is still a lot of risk to the pick and he could very well be out in round 3 and have the green vest in round 2. It helps that Carlton play Thursday and Friday night in both weeks so you can monitor how he goes but he is not a lock.

The other advantage is he is expensive for a rookie so if he doesn't pan out you can trade him to a cheaper rookie that is performing well

Ricochet

TMitchell couldn't get a game after a million possessions in the 2s. A lot more goes into building a side than just chucking in guys in form

I was going to bring this up but then I could see all the Carlton are showerty and Sydney finished first responses

Guys like Cunningham and Lloyd aren't more talented then Mitchell, it just happens that they had pace or were more  versatile then Mitchell, while Mitchell was competing for a spot against JPK, Hanners, Jack and Parker

This is Sydney we are talking about... They have amazing depth.. Also to be fair that competition is a disgrace the neafl.... Very average players rack up numbers there..,

I'm not so sure about that. I think Horse is more along the lines of if you're playing well you don't get dropped, and I guess that's the angle I hope Mick takes with Cripps

Either way, everything you're saying makes total sense, so only time will tell I guess
