This thread can be used to discuss the players you are watching and rooks you have your eyes on from the NAB cup matches.

Jed Anderson looking good

Karnezis killing it too, hopefully it's not a repeat of 2013! Langford has just picked up from where he finished last year also and I really am thinking about him as a selection, think he could average 95-100

LF

Not that I think you could pick him but interested to see Big Boys scores from tonight,he played very well.

Jordan De Goey hype train.

Train now departing, stand clear please.

Great game.
Our kids did real well and if a couple get to make the squad i'd go karnezis and de goey if he gets more time in the guts.
Even though the 2 of karnezis' goals he wouldnt get in afl coz that would have been cloak up there in the sqaure not him.
Freeman has shocking disposal and just stands around waiting for the pill. Saw him during the intra club and took him out of my team.
Gault is still rookie listed and shouldnt be. The kid dominates Witts and is crazy mobile.
Jed Anderson has been a lock for a ages, just want me make sure he makes the hawks 22.

He had 90% DE today, can't really call that bad.  :o

haha yeah i saw all those DE's before thinking wtf, he missed his target about 6 times of his 11 possies tonight. makes no sense.

Kids did play well but against a second rate Hawthorn team, while we were only a few players off full strength.

Don't know if Anderson will play, and if so his role will be clearly defined to a sub role in my eyes, Hawks had Hodge, Gibson, Birchall, Burgoyne, Lewis, Rioli, Roughead, Suckling, Hill, Smith, Lake and a few others out, so I doubt this performance will do much for his security within the Hawks best 22.

Would also really love Gault in the team but at the expense of Grundy, I would much rather Witts over him at this stage.

What about Fasolo also, kicking 4 goals??

LF

I thought Ben Kennedy played well.
Not sure he is best 22 tho.

The_Supercoach

I know its still pre season but he did show a lot in that practice match. How many games do you see hawks giving him this year?

I thought his disposal was ok, but it's hard to say from low pressure NAB games. I agree with you on the standing around. He didn't seem to show much run, which I look for in young players because coaches love it and it helps the JS.

Jed looked like a star out there, but the midfield is packed.

Obviously Pies had our best out too man. Was just a rookies battle tonight :)
What i've seen Gault do in the intra club, last years round 23 and tonight i have not seen Witts do. Witts is too 'gumpy' and not mobile enough. I really like the Gault-Grundy combo.
ben Kennedy had 23 possies and afew goals in the Intra Club too mate, i had a close eye on him as his disposal and speed have really picked up, and even thought about having him as my F4 for a break out season, but pointless with all the forward options this year.

If freeman's D/E was 90 than from his 11. Should of scored roughly 60-70. I would leave him on the bench if he gets games

petefisker

Yeah interesting too see how Anderson goes getting in.
Kyle Cheney, Mitch Hallahan, Luke Lowden, Brad Sewell all gone, hoping he gets Hallahan/Sewells spot
- but as you said, could be Vest worthy at best. Very talented lad!
