Who is the best midfielder available for $455k?

Love ya work,
Tex
Jack Steven mate. Has gone 105+ before

What if it could be either a forward or mid? Plus i am legitimatley $100 short of steven
I'd still try and get Steven mate. He's the best pick around that price.

Others i like though are TMitchell and Ziebell
Ok, i got Steven but it was at the expense of Nathan Freeman (who i dont really care about) I brought in Ellis-Yolmen, is he a good pick? Also can u take a look at the few changes i've made to my team?

DEF: Simpson, H Shaw, Newnes, Higgins, K Kolodjashnij, A Saad (Maynard, H Goddard)

MID: Ablett, Pendlebury, Griffen, A Swallow, Neale, J Steven, Cripps, Heeney (J Anderson, Ellis-Yolmen, K Lambert)

RUC: Goldstein, Maric (Read)

FWD: D Martin, Swan, J Martin, Bellchambers, M Clark, Hogan (Steele, C Daniel)

$10,500 left over
Woah man that midfield is loaded! think your missing out on too many good rooks there. Mainly NVB and Newton
Ok, if i downgrade Neale to Newton, what should use the extra cash on?
Cheers Legend
A couple of options man. You could look at upgrading someone like Swallow to a gun mid like Fyfe/Jelwood/etc
Or upgrading Kolo to Lumumba/Gibson/etc
Or JMartin to a gun fwd like Lids/Gray/etc

Think either of those options would really strengthen your team. You have a lot of value picks, but probably time to look at some real top end premos
I upgraded Kolodjashnij to Lumumba only because Roos showed in last night's NAB (MELB vs COLL) that he can rotate through the mid. This gave me more than I expected, so I spent it on upgrading Newton to Wells, good choice? or should I spend it in my forward line? If so, Best forward for $455k? Apart from Swan

What are your thoughts on Whitecross and Jones?

Big Mac

Is Bellchambers still an option?

Hey boys, I'll have a look at these a bit later today. Been a busy wkend

Best Defence rookie with a budget of $164,200?

Hawker_08

G'day Rico. I was wondering on ur thoughts of both of these teams. Which one do u think is better

Team 1
Def: Simpson, Shaw, Birchall, Newnes, Lumumba, Brown (McIntosh, Saad)
Mid: Pendles, Selwood, JPK, Ward, Steven, Cripps, Anderson, Heeney (Vandenberg, Ellis-Yolmen, Miller)
Ruck: Maric, Nic Nat (Read)
Fwd: Gray, Martin, Swan, Salem, Clark, Hogan (Lamb, Lambert)

Team 2
Def: Shaw, Birchall, Newnes, Lumumba, Goodes, Brown (McIntosh, Saad)
Mid: Pendles, Fyfe, Selwood, JPK, Ward, Newton, Cripps, Heeney (Vandenberg, Ellis-Yolmen, Miller)
Ruck: Maric, Nic Nat (Read)
Fwd: Gray, Martin, Swan, Salem, Clark, Hogan (Lamb, Lambert)

Keep in mind for team 1 I have Steven to UG to gaz ASAP otherwise I have to wait for rookies to appreciate enough. Cheers mate

Hey Rico, I would love your advice on 2 possible teams for myself.

Currently:

DEFS: Shaw, Hibberd, Newnes, Lumumba, Macmilan, Dick (Saad, Edwards)
MIDS: Ablett, Pendles, Jelwood, Barlow, A.Swallow, Van Berlo, Anderson, Vandernberg  (Heeny, Dumont, Lambert)
RUCKS: Nic Nat, Belly (Read)
FWDS: Bartel, Goddard, Martin, Swan, Hogan, Clark (Karnezis, Krak)
salary left $9,100

Or

DEFS: Shaw, Hibberd, Newnes, Lumumba, Macmilian, Saad (Brown, Dick)
MIDS: Ablett, Pendles, Jelwood, Barlow, Cripps, Van Berlo, Steele, Vandernberg  (Heeny, Dumont, Lambert)
RUCKS: Nic Nat, Mummy (Read)
FWDS: Bartel, Goddard, Martin, Swan, Hogan, Clark (Karnezis, Krak)
Cash left $25,900
Option 1 has the better balance in terms of structure mate, but Belly at R2 is too weak with no cover and a basement rookie at D6 is also too weak. Maybe drop one of your fwd premos down to a rookie. Most teams will go 3 premo fwds, with some going with only 2
What do you think of the changes?

DEFS: Shaw, Hibberd, Newnes, Lumumba, Macmilan, Pearce (Saad, Dick)
MIDS: Ablett, Pendles, Jelwood, Barlow, A.Swallow, Van Berlo, Steele, Vandernberg  (Heeny, Dumont, Lambert)
RUCKS: Nic Nat, Maric (Read)
FWDS: Bartel, Martin, Swan, Salem Hogan, Clark (Karnezis, Krak)
8600 left in the bank.

What's your opinion on Selwood or JPK? Or even upgrade Barlow to Ward/JPK? Also, I was thinking of grabbing Gibson in since it looks like he will be playing as loose man in the hawks defence. Do you think he has the potential to score more than Hibberd?
Yeh structurally a lot better mate. Might still need some cash to make a stronger R3, but wait and see on that one.
Jelwood over JPK
and Barlow over JPK just, both over Ward

I think alot of people are being sucked in by Gibbo. Birchall will come back and play spare man. Gibson will match up on Clark week 1 and Lake will take Hawkins. Gibson definitely wont be spare man rebounding against Geelong, that is for sure.
Yeh only thing to remember is Frawley has come in. Last year it was Lake and Gibson taking fwds #1 and #2, with a Spangher type taking the #3 fwd. Now Lake and Frawley take fwds #1 and #2 with Gibson taking the #3 fwd.

Hey Rico,

Midfield currently stands as:
Pendlebury, Fyfe, Beams, JPK, Griffen, Newton, Cripps, Vandenberg (Freeman, Steele, Heeney)

I really want Gray and think he's about to explode but can't fit him in the FWD with all the decent rookies.
To fit him in the MID and swing him FWD later in the season, I need to downgrade Newton/Cripps to lower priced rookie to free up enough $$ to upgrade the other to Gray.

Currently not running GAZ so Pendlebury, Fyfe, Beams/Selwood, JPK are a must and I see value in Griffin.

Do you think this is worth it or 2 of the Newton/Cripps or the NVB type are a must have?

Cheers in advance!

Edit: If it helps this is the current full team:
DEF: Shaw, Gibson, Hurn, Newnes, Lumumba, Goddard (Hamling, Saad)
MID: Pendlebury, Fyfe, Beams, JPK, Griffen, Newton, Cripps, Vandenberg (Freeman, Steele, Heeney)
RUC: Maric, NicNat (Read)
FWD: Martin, Swan, Salem, Clark, Hogan, Karnezis (Lamb, Lambert)
No I wouldn't mate. Newton and NVB are must haves imo. Cripps I have concerns about because he will probably cop vests. And your fwd line is fine as it is, plus like you said Griff is great value. I would keep your structure as is man.
Cheers Mate.

I had a bit of coin in the bank and by downgrading Lumumba (or Hurn, thoughts?) to Bewick I freed up just enough to Cripps to Gray. At least I get my boy Gray to swing FWD mid season and can at least have Newton/NVB. Really hoping I don't need to throw more money into the DEF line....

Still left with $19k to rookie watch before RD1.

DEF: Shaw, Gibson, Hurn, Newnes, Bewick, Goddard (Hamling, Saad)
MID: Pendlebury, Fyfe, Beams, JPK, Gray, Griffen, Newton, Vandenberg (Freeman, Steele, Heeney)
RUC: Maric, NicNat (Read)
FWD: Martin, Swan, Salem, Clark, Hogan, Karnezis (Lamb, Lambert)
Yeh I would go Hurn instead of Lumumba. Lumumba is great value at his price and had a great NAB. That would give you a bit more cash to fix up your rookies come round 1 too

I'm considering Gibson. It's impossible to know for sure, but I'd say Lake goes to Hawkins and Frawley goes to Clark, meaning Gibson takes the third tall.

Can't see him getting as much space as he did against the Saints, but he still has the potential to rack up the possessions at a high efficiency since he'll be freed up from playing on the main forward.
Yep exactly my thoughts as well mate

Not at all mate. I think you're rookies are fine. Maybe consider Lamb in your fwd line as well, over someone like Steele. Steele not playing on the wkend makes it harder for me seeing him line up round 1. Only one I think you may need cash to upgrade is Lucey at R3, but you have 65k so that should be enough.

I would keep Newton over Wells mate, he'll be a pretty important rookie for us this year. Apart from Swan, I'd look at Tom Mitchell

What are your thoughts on Whitecross and Jones?
Have seen neither during NAB so put a cross through them mate. Was never expecting to see Jones at all but was hoping for at least one game from Whitecross. They won't be there round 1
