McGovern's huge 143 was when he had a big last quarter and everything he did got massive points. He won't get that kind of scoring under the new multiplier scoring.
His other two 100+ scores were from him playing down back

So if he's going to play fwd in the absence of Darling it might be a bit too risky

Good point, but I reckon Lycett plays more forward in the absence of Darling

Saw this on HeraldSun

JASON JOHANNISEN (Western Bulldogs) $344,500 DEF

Some interesting numbers on Johannisen were found when reading through the forums on SuperCoach Scores: Johannisen averaged 113 in games in which Shaun Higgins didn’t play last year and JJ averaged 85 after the Bulldogs’ bye. Of course, Higgins has left the club and Johannisen has had a full pre-season. Johannisen says he has a licence to attack under new coach Luke Beveridge: “If I see a gap, I’m going to take it.”

Thoughts?

Lol there were only 2 games he played without Higgins: GC in their first game without Ablett and the bombers. Hardly a telling stat.

LOL Dave I thought the exact same thing after looking into it. LOL at just using the stats they want to make it sound better

I'll keep an eye on him during NAB, but cant see him being a good enough option

Are people still looking at Hurn with McEnzie out? Could be looking at more of a lockdown role?

He's been in my side all pre-season, but I am have second thoughts no with Emac, Waters and Glass no longer there. I just don't think Hurn will be as free as he likes to be. Will continue to monitor him

I've jumped off, he will cop a tag even more with Ezy and Glass not there. Why would you forward tag, Schofield, Sheppard etc when you have a guy who can hit a team mates chest from 60+ meters.

They were not being tagged, but surely Hurn wont be given as much freedom to run off his opponent with those guys not around?

I'll be watching him closely over the next 2 matches to see what his role is now

Hurns role won't change, he's too important to the eagles structure moving the footy fwd. WCE will find other players to fill the void

diamw90

I guess we'll have to wait and see

Why houli though?

There's a few things going for Houli, firstly he has only missed 2 games in 4 years, this puts him in the elite class for durability. His season averages over this period have been 89, 83, 91 & 83. If we take into account his 125 against Port in the elimination final last year his average comes in at 85, in his last 8 games 7 scores were above 80 including 3 tons. He can throw in the odd shocker but so too can Shaw, Simpson & Birch. I'm seriously considering Bachar and feel Richmond's early draw will see him bolt out of the blocks.

Hagebear

Fisher for me. Obviously fitness is the issue although can see him being the general down back for the saints this year and averaging 90+

diamw90

Can you take fisher/newenes both together?

Gigantor

I do at the moment but if goddard is looking like a solid rookie pick I wont feel comfortable naming 3 saints in one line.
There is also Geary to consider as well
